called an agitation ball or a mixing ball, used to basically bounce off of any paint on the walls or bottom of the can and get it stirred around for it to be picked up by the nozzle
For those who don't know, these balls serve to mix the liquefied gas and the liquid paint so that when the nozzle is opened, the gas carries particles of the paint up through the dip tube and out of the nozzle

@@user-kq6ju6hc1w iam talking because for one the man literally cut the spray can open, and the ball was glass. Also don't know how old your but iam 50 and as far back as 1987 when I was younger we played marbles a lot at school, but for a bag of marbles mostly cat-eyes or galaxy marbles they were 2.00 a bag. That was a price that was a little expensive, so my dad had a lot of empty spray can around because you weren't allowed to throw them away in the garbage can ( 87 was a time when the E.P.A was in full swing and you just threw your garbage in a can and when it was garbage collection day the truck would come with a driver and extra work who would jump of the back open the lid look inside and dump the trash by hand in the back of the truck no mechanical arm.) But back to the main part of the story, my brother and I would tear the empty spray cans open and get the marble out and it was always glass we would tell the kids at school that these marbles were special because the were called (clearys) because if rember previously i told you the marble that you bought were mostly cats-eyes or galaxies those all had a form of colornization to so to have a all clear marble was cool we would trade them for snakes and agates which were way better than clear marbles. So your still following along, so one day my brother got idea to try and spreckl the clear ones and found impossible to spreckl or even paint it the paint would not stick to the glass for nothing, I haven't lost you yet, okay good so now back at school in art class we had a project were we had to make a diorama of the solar system and me being the creative not going with the norm I made my sun from a old railroad train bearing which I paint very easily and the paint stuck really good ( reson for using the bearing was because I didn't want the sun to move at all because the sun doesn't rotate only planets rotate around the sun). But back to the point so if you had a metal marble sitting in a spray paint can that gets down pretty low and you haven't shaken it in a while that metal marble will get coated with paint and not move to well were a glass marble will not. So yeah sorry for writing you a novel but I do know what iam talking about through experience.
