Norway's Ultimate Motorcycle Mecca: Solo motorcycle Trip through Norwegian Mountain Passes [S5-3]

- June 8th 2023: This day and everything about it was SO nice! Woke up at a epic camp spot, rode some breathtaking mountain passes and set camp again at one of the nicest campings I've ever been at 😍
Route day 3:
Started from Tvindefossen camping, drove over the fantastic Vikafjell mountain pass and continued taking the ferry from Vangsnes to Dragsvik. Made a detour to check out Balestrand, then countinued to the second mountain pass of the day; Gaularfjell. Followed FV613 to E39 and headed east towards Skei. The campings there were so packed with people, I decided to continue to a smaller campground up in the mountains. And jackpot, @hoysethcamping appeared in the end of the valley! This has to be one of my favorite camps ever so far!

What a beautiful campsite and I agree, the quiet one's are the best. As soon as I see all the flag poles, nations of the world at an entrance for a corporate site it is not for me, I keep going. That road from Skei is one I remember, especially the view from the Jokeer till as I purchased food for the night. on my way to Gasemyr camping, 20 k from Hoyseth.

I live right outside of Glacier Park in the US (Montana) and seeing the mountains and streams and water just relaxes me. Wish we had some fjords to enjoy motorcycling and ferrying around here too! Norway has magnificent scenery to explore - especially as you do - casually on a motorcycle. So glad that you’ve discovered the idea of traveling “slowly” too! There’s too much hurry in the world. Found you when I was surfing around the internet and CZcams. Has for some time, followed Itchy Boots, which is now in West Africa. Your section and your way of telling about what you encounter is wise, insightful and interesting. I am a motorcyclist, currently at rest as the motorcycle is out of order. So your trip will be a welcome feature. Has previously travelled in Norway by motorcycle and car. Share your wonder at what you encounter in Norway. Nature is unbeatable. Second choice is the better choice. My favourite adjective for views like that is spectacular. You're very lucky to just be able to pull in to a beautiful campground and get a spot. I live in western Canada, and if you're travelling through the mountains here in Alberta or British Columbia, most of the campgrounds are fully booked in the summer, reserved months in advance, unless you're well off the beaten path. I do agree about taking time to enjoy all of the sights, though, regardless of the distance you cover.
