Rest in piece to this tiny topaz. I'm 99% positive I tossed it out while transferring gems from my loose bag of finished stones to individual gem boxes.

Thanks so much for sharing 👍. I’m learning so much from your videos. I have a faceting machine, but I have yet to try a piece. The one time I attempted, the stone fell off the dop 😩. I was defeated.
Im just trying to learn more before I try again.
Is there a faceting book you recommend? I would love to read about the whole faceting process. I get overwhelmed with remembering what type grits and when. Im sure it takes practice but I have no clue. I make cabs and polish specimens so I have a little bit of knowledge.
    Thanks!
    Stay Crystal 💫

I think the best way to learn faceting is by doing! Use cheap rough that you don't mind messing up. I also had a local faceter running me through the process on my first stone, but after that I was flying solo.
I haven't read any books on faceting, but I did go through many of the US Faceter's Guild newsletters, which are full of useful information. Good luck, and have fun in your faceting journey!
