Excellent work Young Je, I particularly like your distressing of the sides and ends with the angle grinder/sander! I was wondering why you didn't treat the lid of the box the same way as the flat finish of your lid seems to detract from the overall beauty of your excellent work?
Your boxes are always so beautiful, Young. Great craftsmanship! Have you ever considered using a 'mop sander' to do some of the final sanding on the irregular surfaces? They're pretty easy to make and would save you a great deal of time..
Very nice and all that, but my wife says she would have liked to have seen the inside finished off with silk, velvet or even merino wool as used on snooker tables.
Very nice! I like how you apply finish to the inside before glue up. Makes it easier to get glue residue out of the inside corners. And then oil finish to outside when complete. And then spray lacquer over that? Does the lacquer stick ok to the oil finish?
That is absolutely beautiful! project! The fit of the dividers was just so perfect. How did you get the brass rods glued into the lid without gluing the sides?
Young Je. What kind of disc is that you're using on your angle grinder. It's flexible and I've been looking at the hardware stores. I will admit a new to angle grinders.
