Zora domain has the best atmosphere in the game. That and the lost woods. The game made me feel how I did first playing ocarina of time as a kid. I wish I could wipe my memory and play the game again. I have 200 hours in and I can't help but feel the world has lost its sense of awe and purpose. Exploring this vast world and doing quests as you go is truly phenomenal. This game alone was enough to justify my switch purchase.

They were cruel with this area -plaques all around the city describing the history of the zora and how they wept when mipha died -dozens of old zora cursing link -her diary -the way her statue glows at night -sidon starring at this lamenting how he couldn't save his sister
The zoras embodied their divine beast in a way. They are a community, with strong emotional connections and...they never forget. There's at least one zora for every stage of grief.
@@ethanmotherfucking-bonzain2848 we can only hold on to the memory cutscenes for now, but hopefully they show more of her in the second supodingly going to be made game
Whenever I hear this I can't help but to think of Mipha's Statue gently glowing and lighting up Zora's domain with it's beauty. Then I cry knowing she is gone.
This theme is how it feels to be underwater. Like a big, warm blanket, caressing you, until you have to come back up for air. That's my only problem with swimming :3
I love the piano playing so slowly ugh. I've never heard this at night when I played BOTW. I think it's hard to hear the theme because of the water dripping down.
I didn’t feel the same emotion I did when battling the other divine beasts that I did for Ruta. I know all the others champions can hold they’re own, but Mipha was young. For her to be murdered by Waterblight Ganon, felt unsettling.
Jello Trooper - Bionicle and Pokemon She is actually pretty strong, flavor text for her trident says she was in "a class of her own", and she could swim up a waterfall while holding her trident and baby Sidon in the DLC without breaking a sweat. The problem is the blights ambushed the champions, and the champions didn't have their weapons either. I think she's around 30 years old too, still quite young, but not the teen she looks like she is.
its the fact she comes off as a kind and gentle girl that makes you sad she died also she's the one character in the game who has a personal connection to link she was a childhood friend who feel in love with him but never got the chance to tell him how she felt plus Zora domain was the place link hung out the most in all the area's of hyrule so the inhabitants knew him well compared to all the other places were very few knew of him
I reached Zora's Domain at night, it was so calm compared to the road to it. The rain and the night air and the music made Mipha's statue all the more beautiful and sad.
IDK if I'm just a Zelda Nerd, but the whole storyline of breath of the wild was just so beautiful. I teared up several times... ESPECIALLY when it came to Zora's domain. it was just so sad and I couldn't stop myself from crying over a fish girl. And don't even get me STARTED on miphas memories😭 I didn't finish the game till after 4 years because I didn't want the adventure to end. I finished every. single. quest, chest, and horse. gosh, I'm such a sucker for good stories.
Back in 2017, every day my family would just sit down and watch me or my dad play breath of the wild for hours. Va ruta was the first divine beast we completed and i will never forget when link first walked into Zoras domain. It was nighttime and raining. The sad part is that well never be able to capture those memories again......
Damn...whenever I listen to this, the only thing that remains in my mind is Mipha...Her voice, her smile, her beauty (despite being a Zora), I cant help but imagine what would have happened if she hadn't died. A lovely future with Link (us) and a long cute life with her. Now, when it comes to Ruta's Dungeon theme, that gets me depressed. Those notes in the song give me goosebumps and make me think of how hurtful Mipha's last moments were..praying for someone to help her, to save her soul. Wow, this game is actually the best. Not for its gameplay, but for how each character has a certain impact in each one of us. I can only say that..even if she didn't have enough screen time in the game, Mipha took a small but important piece of my heart.
If you listen with good headphones, you can hear a long drone throughout the song. Really gives you that feeling like you’re listening to it underwater. Amazing.
I think not only does this represent being underwater, but the soft, tender piano and all around vibe of the piece represents Mipha's feelings for Link. I could just imagine her humming the melody to him or something like that. The composers did a fantastic job with this. I'm actually going thru the game for the first time right now, and so far this is my favorite.
okamiman73 the music does not suck at all its just not as instantly catchy or as bombastic as past zeldas but its absolutely perfect for the type of zelda game that it is
i think the music in the game is perfect. the use of silence works to its advantage and having such strong themes in each significant area really helps you know you’ve stumbled onto something important
The music for Zeldas... As much as I dislike the game myself, the best soundtrack was Skyward Sword. That doesn't mean BotW doesn't have good tracks, only like this and others it's more atmospheric. We still get a few awesome character themes, but there's no Gerudo Valley, Song of Healing, Molgera or Hidden Village to name a few of the best 3D Zelda songs. Music in 2D is used to better effect IMO but that's just me. BotW music does not suck. I don't know who actually thinks that and says older games had good music with a straight face. It's just as GoldenOracle64 says they're not as catchy or bombastic.
Picture this. Your first playthrough of botw, no idea what youre doing. The first divine beats you do is Vah Rutah, and it takes a helluva long time to get to Zora's Domain. You get there, its night, and pouring down rain. The beacon of light known as Zora's Domain lights everything up for you, and fills you with an awe that you will never forget.
Nah dude. Gerudos desert is the most developed. It has a huge explorable area with multiple points of interest, its own area specific miniboss, many interesting shops and sidequests in the town too. I get the feeling that they worked on that location first and were able to spend the most time on it.
Hearing this makes me think about what could have been, with Mipha and Link if everything had gone right. Makes you realize that the champions and Link were for the most part just like any other person in Hyrule. They only had the courage stand up to fight, and die for what they loved.
My one complaint I've always had about BotW was the fact the music is not prominent enough, I understand the whole minimalistic approach but because of that I never knew how majestic this song really was. Fingers crossed they turn it up for the sequel!
Am I the only one that would just sometimes visit Zora's domain after a divine beast or after a big adventure be it fighting a bunch of tough enemies under the rain or climbing a tough snowy mountain to get some treasure, anything that had me sigh in relief once I was done with it, just to buy some stuff like arrows, pretend to greet the people and the king, and then sleep at the Inn even if I didn't need it? just to make it feel like Zora's domain was like a second home for Link. man.. this game really made me feel like a child again, playing with my imagination in ways the game probably didn't intend for me to do.
