Thank you Dr Gupta. Was just wean fed off Metoprolol 100mg. From 100 to 50 to 25 to 12.5. Heart rate was 42 to 47 in all dosages (asymptomatic). Now without any metoprolol , heart rate is generally 52-56. No symptoms. I’m an active 73 year old female. Thank you for this video. Has set my mind at ease.

This has put me so much at ease. Right now my fiance is going through this. Her heart rate goes down to as low as 39. We are in the process of getting in touch with a cardiologist. Over the last 6 weeks she has gone through faint spells. She has been to the emergency room several times and each time she has been sent home with different information, low potassium, dehydration, some times with a shrug of the shoulders. Right now she is on a halter monitor.
Watching your video, you have provided in the 15 minutes what none of these doctors have told us. I do respect that they are ER doctors and not trained in cardiology.
They have hooked her up to monitors for several hours, the last doctor we meet a few nights ago, although I didn't like his bedside manner did give us a small piece of information. Yes she had a low heart rate, it went down to 39BPM. BUT, it never skipped a beat. I told him that what I have read says she MAY need a pace maker, he said 100% no. She does not need one. She is 46, but the strange thing is, I have even made her exercise. So like kettlebell swings, she got tired very quickly(after a few minutes), but her heart rate didn't go past 53BPM.
Anyway, I am going to have her watch this video tomorrow to help put her at ease. Thank you.

But within an hour it was back to 72 etc. But still dizzy but I could walk in the house up and down to make it better😏 that's what I told myself. I'm 26 and heart anxiety is literally ruining my life right now. I've recently got myself a fitbit, due to feeling my pulse when i lay in my bed, and i regret it. I've never fainted and I dont feel dizzy. I was in martial arts for 10 years and i lifted weights and did cardio ocassionaly for 10 years aswell. My RHR is in the 50s, somstimes it drops to 48 at most but doesnt stay there for very long. Ever since i got this fitbit im starting to feel shortness of breath and I'm putting it on the heart rate. I had covid 3 months ago but I didnt have problem breathing back then also i checked my lung function after that and it was perfect. Anxiety is a killer. Its not the low heart beat its the anxiety that creates these stupid symtoms that appear all of sudden and fit perfectly into my own diagnosis of my heart. If anyone wants to talk feel free to comment ✌️

would it be of any concern if after a long stressful day, coming home and relaxing had brought my heart rate down to 45 bpm? I was awake and didn't notice, for some reason I checked my pulse in the car and freaked out. I had been truly relaxed for once (normally anxious) and my radial pulse was soft so it was hard to find. generally it is more easily paliptable so I was scared something out of the ordinary was happening. I am 28, 150 lbs and 71 inches. I have been terrified just because my heart rate doesnt normally dip that low but nor am I ever that relaxed. Thank you for these videos again!

I don't feel dizziness when i am awake, but many time i get dizziness when i am half asleep, like if i am awake but don't get off bed immediately sometimes i would get a rush of dizziness for a second or shorter, if i straighten my head or sit straight up immediately the dizziness goes away.

Great info, thanks! I have been getting some afibs, usually in the mornings. Where my heart beats fast and won't come out of it sometimes. I have been to the ER a couple times with this. Everything was fine after all tests. I have a good cardiologist, have done stress tests, nuclear scans, and every other test thats non internal with a cath. Everything checks out fine. I have PACs I was told. But I noticed all of this coming on when I started lacking in sleep. I was having nightmares and waking up catching my breath some times. Apnea type symptoms. I did an in home sleep study and am borderline with sleep apnea I was told. They said I had a few events and my heart rate dipped to 39 at one point. The night I did the test I actually had a better than average nights sleep. I am seeing a pulmanologist to see if I may have sleep apnea and possibly do more testing. I have been told sleep apnea can cause these symptoms I am in good shape at 53. But at night my heart rate sitting in a chair with my feet up can get to 49 bpm and lying down can sometimes get as low as 43. During the day its 58 beats per minute sitting or mid 70s standing. I do 30 mins of cardio 4 times a week. No issues and feel good. I don't experience dizziness or problems. Other than at night around 10 30 pm, when leaning back in a chair with my feet up I will get some heart flutters where my heart slows way down and flops around. My heart would say be beating at 60 bpm, than get in low 50s to sometimes high 40s. Sitting more up right or standing it doesn't do it. And when going to bed I will get flutters, sometimes for 30 mins. Standing up usually eleviates all symptoms. During these episodes, if my hearts beating normal, than sometimes when swallowing something when this is going on my heart will skip.. Not sure if its a vegus nerve thing. Than I get out of the flutters eventually and am good with a 50s heart rate. My blood pressure is usually 117 over 75 ish. Thanks Dr Gupta!!!!

You are awesome, Dr Gupta love your videos. Do you have an opinion on "incomplete right bundle branch block" in a 30 year old male who doesn't smoke or drink, does exercise regularly, no family history of heart problems?

I'm so glad i found this vlog.......i am obese but have always even years before obese had average heartbeat of about 55. I have hbp and was put on meds that made it be at faster and I could not handle it as it increased palpitations. I can exercise and rate increase but not increase palpitations. I'm glad to know it's just average for me.

@@rut8851 hey good to hear you lost 90lbs! I am also obese and in the process of losing weight. I am a bit concerned as my heart rate is 51 - 55 but I otherwise feel good other than having some Ectopic heart beats. I am just worried about how low it will go as I lose the weight and get fit.. I really don't want a pacemaker... I will see a Cardiologist in due time to express my concerns.

Around your age, I’m no cardiologist but as a trauma nurse, we’d wanna keep your heart working less at your age, especially during code blue, so as long as you don’t feel dizzy or feel like blacking out. You should be fine at that bpm. Some people wit anxiety have it as low as 30. Only a cardiologist can rule out any problems wit your heart. I constantly worry about my heart rate but eventually it all falls back to anxiety.

Dr Gupta that was a very good message. You are just like my cardiologist always trying to educate your patients. And if we learn to ear right and exercise correctly it would elimate alot of heart problems. I am working on this. It not easy but it can be done. I did it before and l know l cam do it again. You are a blessing that's the way l think of my cardiologist of l only knew you both years ago.

Hi Dr., I had 3 open heart surgeries for a heart valve replacement. I had my 3rd open heart Feb2021 at Cedar Sinai Hospital, LA.
I live 14 hr flight away from CA, and just got out of the hospital here at home, and my heart rate was 49 to 55 during my admission. I also, had 2 stents and 3 strokes as well, at age 35, now 48.
I am little worry, I decided to fly back to Cedar Sinai Hospital in Jan2022 plus I had loss 50 pounds since my return.
I useless don't play around with the heart if I know something is wrong. Here at home we do not perform open heart surgeries and healthcare is very limited when it comes to the heart. Thanks!

My resting heart rate is 40 per minutes getting no any other problem but I suffer from anxiety issues with the of course ectopic. Fellas If you have a ectopic and structurally normal heart don’t worry. You will get tones of ectopic but there is no harm for your heart , during ectopic you may can’t catch your breath that’s normal.

I have a slow heart rate of 32, have been diagnosed with full av block type 3. Although experience no symptoms whatsoever. I have had this condition for the past 5 years starting in 2018. I have been told by a conduction specialist that i need a pacemaker. I am really confused as i have never blacked out nor felt dissy and have energy levels better than most people. Please help me to understand what to do
