- I love Bilbao, and it's crazy to think that it was a decaying industrial city a few decades ago. Here's some inspiration that shows that cities can indeed be transformed.
I had to cut a lot out of this video, because it was getting too long for me to edit, but there are a ton of other cool things about Bilbao that I couldn't cover here, so there might be a part 2 coming.

Bilbao is the most underrated city in Spain in my opinion. I loved every second that I was there and you could really feel the culture of the people. (Also for anyone planning a Spain trip you need to do a day trip to Toledo - my favorite Spanish city and it's right near madrid)
I love the changes they made to the area. It's so much nicer now

What a nice video on your part! Although simple (it's impossible to do otherwise given the length), I don't think it takes from the content, quite the contrary! Many much longer formats on bilbao tend to be oversimplified, which I don't think this video is, just concise.
There tend to be an extreme overestimation of the effect the Guggenheim had on the transformation. It was definitely important, especially as a mood setter I'd say (kinda like banner holders in ancient warfare), so worth mentioning, but I feel you did a great work puting the focus on the pushing of transportation, quality of life (environmental works, cleaning, parks, etc), and overall education - industrial focus.
So congrats, really!

Do they still have PPP? Is that a name they just came up with for this renovation or do other cities have this?
Yes, they still have their PPPs, Bilbao Ria and Bilbao Metropoli-30, today! PPP is a general term for public private partnership, also called 3P or P3. Many cities have some form of PPPs, though not all are as successful...
@Ben Toney most infrastructure projects within the EU are a 3P system. If a government doesn't take an interest what a city needs to evolve it will die. Left abandoned like major parts of American cities. You see a New York or a Barcelona as 'the same' but they are diametrically opposed. The American system won't work in Europe, neither does the European system work in New York. Two very different starting points, Europe tries to evolve while preserving their history, America demolishes when they think it has no more use.
