  • =================Polite notice this video was filmed before the close season=================
    You join me for a more static approach at the back end of the season, where I decide to bait a couple of swims but then instead opt to try and build a spot and fish static with the link ledger into early evening time. This was a short late afternoon into early evening fishing trip.
    Bait used - bread - cheese paste- maggots-worms
    Tackle used
    Rod - Shimano purist river feeder with a 3 ounce tip
    Reel - Shimano Symetre 500FL

    Another great video Mark I like the detailed explanation of the ground baiting at the beginning. Great quality fish as usual. I also like the fact that when things don't go as expected and you end up with some misfortune you can laugh at yourself, I believe that these moments are as important to your memory as the fish you catch🎣🎣👍

    • @francolinobasco
      @francolinobasco  Před 2 lety

      Thanks John and I felt it would be a good idea to explain my thoughts on splitting swims and sometimes making your chances less, of course it depends on fish biomass on the particular river you're fishing too.

    Cracking chevin pal. I love baggin a bream on the rivers, they don't give any fight on the stills but they seem to put the effort in when from the rivers. Roll on June 16th so I can dust the rods off and I'll hopefully be with the "Yorkshire River Rover" putting him on the spot for his first proper river carp :)

  • @wokenup5273

    Quick question mark. I need to get a new folding net for my barbel fishing. I notice your using a wychwood one. Have they improved them as ive had one and a korum as well and both barely lasted a season but unfortunately i dont see any alternatives. Is it worth me giving the 1 your using another go do you think. Im also having same issues with digital scales as well.

    • @francolinobasco
      @francolinobasco  Před 2 lety +1

      Right well if you go back a few years ago you will see I had a wychwood and it gave up on during a barbel trip, however i ended up bying another second hand and so far this ones lasting well, i do like the depth and shape of the wychwood, unfortunately for longevity i do feel a smaller carp style net is better like the cheap ngt 30inch net.

    • @wokenup5273
      @wokenup5273 Před 2 lety

      @@francolinobasco i went for the wychwood and have also got a quick release net adaptor which i think will help it last longer as mine failed at the thread area. Also they have slightly changed the net design so should be less drag in faster flows. Fingers crossed and tightlines in new season mark. Might venture to the kennet for a few daytrips in the summer
