Fishing For Bonito Using Jigs On A Bluefish Party Boat

Went fishing for bonito on a bluefish party boat in New Jersey. These types of trips are very hit or miss and luckily it was a HIT. The trip started out with lots of bluefish action, but I eventually hooked up with several bonito, even had a few double headers! I'll be doing one more trip on the Queen Mary so stay tuned.

Can’t tell you how many false albacore & bonito my son and I have caught on the Queen Mary in the past few years. We’ve had trips that after the first drift we had over 10 fish each. One of favorite ways to catch both species is on either the 4 or 5 inch Tsunami Split Tail soft plastics baits.. We’ve never used a teaser but we might have to have add one after watching this. Where did you buy that teaser ? Hoping the storm this weekend doesn’t push the fish off as the bonito bite had been on fire all last week and into the early part of this week.

I went a few times last year on those special trips that target them, lots of fun. Even had a few bluefin landed one trip. The teaser is made by Local Ties (look him up on IG), it’s the Wonderbread Epoxy Teaser.
