  • In this video I'll be showing on how to replace the 5 switches of 4WD in the transfer case at the same time by checking and conforming the value of both the defective and brand new switch of Mitsubishi Pajero 4th Gen.

    Hi there thanks a lot for your very informative vid!! its time for my jero to change the actuators!!! do you think it is worth to change only the one that causing the center ligth to blink?? cause when its not blink i can select gear with no problems at all?? if i change only that im going mitsubishi ones!!but if i change all of them ill go for the after market,,mitsubishi is very expensive and i dont use 4x4,its just the ligth onnying me on the dash.otherwise not a problem to change it at all!!!if im correct i need to change the cd lock??

    Thanks. Now I understand how this system works.
    I've got a 2003 Montero Limited, 3.8L, 217,000 miles. I've also got the infamous Differential Lock orange blinking light that would come and go for months and eventually stayed, and DTC 33 when I read the codes by jumping pins 1 & 4 on the OBD2 plug and counting the blinks. I also had codes 34 and 35 but after swapping the Freewheel Clutch Solenoid and disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes, the 34/35 codes went away and only 33 remains...the center orange light blinking and no control of the system remain also.
    The ground cable on the transfer case is good. All device plugs, vacuum hoses and wires are connected, clean and tight. Voltage reads 10.8-volts from each of the switches' harnesses with the ignition key On.
    I'm trying to figure out which Transfer Position Switch(s) (1 thru 5) is actually bad, before dropping the t-case to swap all 5 of them out. I want to be sure something else is not the issue making it look as of the switches are bad, as I hate swapping parts and doing unnecessary labor. I'm suspicious because I know the clutch solenoids were bad because I tested them, but I doubt they went bad, plus a t-case switch also...as in simultaneously. Maybe so, maybe not.
    I have a test light probe and a digital voltmeter/ohmmeter. Is there a test procedure to test each switch before dropping the t-case and removing them to be sure it is a switch (or maybe two) and not another issue?
    Thanks!

      Good day sir.if you have a diagnostic tools you can identify which switch are mulfunction/defective.because there is always two switches working together all the shifting process.and you can identify also during shifting the 4wd at what gear shift the orange blinks then that is your faulty switch.for sure remove the switch and read the resistance then judgement is yours.

    hello ! great video !
    please i have a question.
    on my pajero i can switch between all 2h, 4h etc etc…
    but i have two issues :
    1 - when driving on highway, after a certain time (in 2h). the center light blinks orange ans the others disappear. all returns to normal when car is switched off and on.
    2 - when i change from 2h to 4h, all 4 lights are green but going rear i can hear a clunk as if something is not engaging or disengaging well.
    i plan to change solenoids.
    no error on scanner for engine or gearbox

      @rolexpanuncialman3484  Před 2 lety +1

      hello sir..I hope this will help you..so no DTC found on your scanner that means your transfer swicth are good.now try to check your freewheel valve and freewheel swicth in your scanner if both are working properly,showing only (ON and OFF position)then your actuator,hoses and vacuum if still connected in your manifold.

    Hello, thanks for the video... I have a problem with my mitsubishi pajero 2016 transmission... When I select 2H, instead of two rear green lights glowing, three green lights are glowing!!! However when I select 4H, all four green lights are glowing normally... Please help me with this... I changed a couple of times between 2H and 4H while driving around 60 kmph ( but I didn't change to 4HLc or 4 LLc while driving),then only this problem started!!!

      Your center diff.always blink the orange color Sir. then if you're using diagnostic tool, your DTC should be T/F position SW3

      I went aftermarket due to overpriced switches but having the same problem. Its just an open closed switch why would it have to be OEM id understand that it won't last long. But they should work

    • @time2kickarse
      @time2kickarse Před 2 lety

      Hi Andrew, I have a similar issue however all the 4wd system works while using the transfer case lever I put it down to a faulty switch.
      I'll test them all to single out the faulty one.
