    I don't know who you are brother, but I want to thank you for this video. Last year I went to change the plugs and bought the valve cover kit and was ready to change the seals to deal with the oil leaking in the front and in the plug tubes and I saw the front cover on top of the left sides of the valve covers and said hell no I ain't taking the whole front cover with the pulleys, belts, etc. might as well do the timing belt at that point. So I just did the plugs, knowing they're gonna get oiled up again. A year later now I watched your video and was like, shoot howdy I was so close I could have did them. I bought the seals and successfully changed them out this weekend. Only pain in the rear was those old seals were rubber baked on tight and took hours to get off. I suggest anyone doing this to get a thin blade flat screwdriver and work it under there and rock it left right, left right as you push. Wear gloves or its a palm blister. Anyway, thanks again for helping to give the courage to do this job.

    Is this why my car stops when idling? My neighbor and I pulled out the top three spark plugs and they were caked in oil. so he found this video and we are going to tackle this this weekend. I really dont have a lot of money to put into this so hopefully this helps.

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  Před 7 lety +2

      Tamika Christie it is possible that if it's miss firing bad enough do to those spark plugs it could stall. I would definitely repair those leaks even if it's not a problem we can create more problems. I would also see if you can get the codes pulled. A lot of parts stores and shops will pull the codes for free. Hope this helps.

    Can my Endeavor get oil in the rear plugs from an valve cover gasket that is bad? Or is it a leaking o'ring?

    did you have any smoke coming from the exhaust from the first startup after this?

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  Před 7 lety

      arsen grigoryan I don't remember. If a lot of the oil goes down the tube seals and you remove the spark plugs you will have some smoke for sure. It Will go away after it burns off.

    ok so I did all of this and changed my valve cover gasket and put everything back together no problem. Now I have changed a coil and a spark plug on the cylinder 1 and my car wont stay started. It turns over and starts but dies out in 3 seconds. any ideas on what maybe the problem?

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  Před 7 lety +1

      fonetiks1 something is still unplugged or you have a large vacuum leak.

    • @fonetiks1
      @fonetiks1 Před 7 lety +1

      how can i find a vacuum leak? that's really all i can think of.

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  Před 7 lety +1

      fonetiks1 if it's a large rack and lick you should be able to hear it. I would just go back over everything that you touched looking for something that may have been left on plug. Also pull codes that may help you if it says lean and you know it's a vacuum leak. If you have carbs spray you can spray around the manifolds and stuff but be careful not to aspirate on ignition wires and you'll see an RPM change if he comes across a vacuum leak

    • @fonetiks1
      @fonetiks1 Před 7 lety +1

      How to Automotive thank you! Could that have been the problem with my car idling rough anyway? Vacuum leak? That's why I changed the spark plug and coil in the first place.

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  Před 7 lety +2

      fonetiks1 vacuum leak could make it run rough for sure.
