That Pacers loss was a weird game, because the Pacers had to do a lot of things uncharacteristically wrong to lose it. They won the 3 point battle, but almost everything else the Pacers usually do well at was bad for a night against Portland. Last night, the Pacers: 1) Shot a low percentage from the field as a whole, 2) Shot awful at the free throw line, 3) committed a lot of turnovers, losing the turnover battle (Which never happens), and 4) Got almost nothing from their bench. With all of these things going wrong, they lost by only 3 points. This game was an outlier. They will bounce back strong.

They lost because the bench was so gassed. Starters played great together, bench turned it over and only scored 12 pts. Pacers till had a chance to win if not for a bone head play by Nesmith. Pacers are gonna be really good the rest of the year. Remember Pacers only played like 8 player the previous night and beat the kings. Also Pacers history have a terrible record against the trailblazer

When I look at playoffs, I look at versatility and chess pieces. How many things can you throw at every team with the resources at your disposal. If okc can get a big that can contain Minnesota, LA Lakers and Denver’s, they are probably the favorites. One of the reasons I was never serious with the grizzlies is because size limits to what you can do as you get deep on the playoffs. Secondly, you need a SUPERSTAR paired with a star or two: or A Trio/quartet of stars. Edwards, Embiid and Shai are the only three that need to make that next step to superstardom. Offense usually dies down, so you need a guy that can takeover when plays need to be made. Edwards hasn’t been good in the clutch, Embiid has been ok, but Shai has been on fire when the game winds down. Once you knock these steps down, it’s just a matter of luck and matchups in some cases.
Just things I look at and the superstar moniker for don’t just given to a regular points guy, it’s someone that changes the narrative of how a season (or era)will go to their favor.(2014 Steph, 2019Kawhi, 2007-2020 Lebron, Doncic WCF a couple years ago).
