If you look up pictures of ballet dancer's feet, you will be glad you never took ballet class. Trust me on this.

interesting... how the slightly slower tempo than most other versions, seems to let you focus on the movement and mood better

that's how fast it should be I mean I understand it from the dancers point of view but it makes the second part of the song drag too much because that part is supposed to be fast in my opinion plus I think it was written to be at that speed.

I agree. The quicker version used in performances of the Balanchine version is much more pleasant to listen to. But I'm pretty sure this slower version was the original.
