    Three things happened after i came across this video. 1) I immediately subbed, 2) I watched every single video on this channel back to back, 3) I ordered some foam and a hot wire cutting table. Fantastic content, sir.

      I like it, I find that just making an extra of everything doesn't add a significant amount to the workload. The thinking part is done already, the crafting bit is easy.

    • @OkayHobbyTime
      @OkayHobbyTime  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks Ryan! I used to add it but ended up cutting it from my process. This type of foam covered in craft paint has been plenty durable for me.

      @@OkayHobbyTime Excellent! On a side - yesterday I made my first attempt to scratch building, beginning with wooden barricades from your tutorial. As for the first contact with XPS and wire cutters I assume it turned out pretty well - thank you for the impulse to start this part of hobby ^^

    I don't know why but it tickles me that to make foam look like stone it's tumbled with little stones

  • @Occhublu
    @Occhublu Před 2 lety +1

    Can't you use a gluegun, or is that too hot for the material?

    • @OkayHobbyTime
      @OkayHobbyTime  Před 2 lety +1

      You can use one as long as it has a low-heat setting. Personally, I'm not a fan since it doesn't provide a lot of working time (I'm constantly readjusting the pieces I place down).

  • @dustinhughett

    What kind of guide do you use with your foam cutter? Great channel! I just consumed a ton of your videos 😁

    • @OkayHobbyTime
      @OkayHobbyTime  Před 2 lety

      Thank you! Glad to hear you've been enjoying the videos. I use the "guider pro" by Shifting Lands. I still use the stock guide for certain cuts as well.

  • @SpenceBeGarbage

    Do you find it necessary to use the "Black Magic Base Coat" any? I see you are airbrush priming black, so obviously not on this build. What primer are you using on it? I hate to waste my nice model primer on a huge piece like this.

    • @OkayHobbyTime
      @OkayHobbyTime  Před rokem

      I find that a base coat of craft paint on this type of foam is plenty enough for durability. Sometimes I airbrush on a base coat if there's a bunch of small nooks (like this build). And I'll usually use the standard Vallejo stuff.

  • @Sergio-ie4hi
    @Sergio-ie4hi Před rokem

    Just curious, what paint do you use to prime the buildings?

    • @OkayHobbyTime
      @OkayHobbyTime  Před rokem

      Just regular acrylic craft paint. Either Apple Barrel or FolkArt brand. When I prime with an airbrush I switch to Vallejo black.
