This was the end of a glorious summer for Seve. His fourth win on the bounce if I'm not mistaken. It started with his victory in the British Open in July then he went on a run of winning tournaments by four or five strokes and playing some of the best golf of his life. I remember seeing one of the British tabloid newspaper headlines on the Monday morning after this victory. The front page had a picture of Seve on the final green with his arms raised in triumph and the headline read "Hurricane Seve Hits Paris". As a kid I thought that was very fitting considering the trail of destruction he'd been leaving behind him.
As for copying Seve’s swing (back then), I wouldn’t have. Beautiful swing, yes, but Seve made it work for him. The average golfer would be doing what Seve did in bad days - except all the time - hooking balls wildly.
Right in the middle of his golden 1988 season, when he won just about everything he entered from June to October. A swing to die for.
Seve in his prime was the best golfer ever. A true international golfing superstar.

This course looked like it was pitch and putt
With persimmon Drivers, travelling 255.7 average from a tour pro back then, about right.
