I would love to see more on the Chevron double reverse method. This is an old school rim and face graph method
there are modern methods for rim and face and double reverse that involve simple mathematical formulas that
make the process simple and easy. I started my career in the air and gas compressor service field and moved
on to the Millwright trade. The refinery standards for machinery installation, grout, and precision alignment were
grueling! Every step of the way, a refinery engineer had to witness the alignment, soft foot measurements, pipe strain,
etc. If there was a void in the grout, a hammer test would reveal it, and it had to be corrected.
I have an old school Adams double reverse kit and a Vibralign LASER kit. I have been doing this for decades
and this covers every aspect of the process although the graph method is a bit dated. The Chevron formula
makes it easy, just 3 dimensions and 4 indicator readings.
