- Hi fellas, heres a look at a 1967 Fender Super reverb against a 1964 Vibroverb . The Super has been modded by Tommy Cougar [ custom by Cougar ] and im also using Tommys reverb tank and aftermarket speakers, where as the Vibroverb is an all original 1964 European import model. In the room these are very different sounding amps, i was always under the impression that the super was bright till i played a Vibro, The Super is a wall of sound where as the Vibro surrounds you!!

Edit.... Rookie mistake.. the vibroverb video had the microphone positioned backwards, so MAKE SURE to check the next video For pure unadulterated VIBRO Tones..... this time with the mic right :]
7/2024: Hello From The Future. I just found you. Most Enjoyable. Very Nice Playing. I like them both. Love the 15", for a different sound. The Vibroverb is a sweet change from everything else. I bought a new '65 Super Reverb reissue a year ago. Always have loved them. Yours is no exception.
.047 mid cap vs .022/ smaller transformer and of course the 15 JBL all come together to absolutely make a difference.
Both amps sound great your playing also fits them very well, you also explained the difference between the sound of the amps very well.
Great tones from both amps. Nice demo playing. Thanks for the post.
I'm getting to your channel late, but I'm so happy to see you added this addition. You work your tail off and deserve the tools to make your art!
Right on man, your attitude is on parr with mine, I will be getting inspiration through your playing and I'm still playing guitar for 30 plus years now off and on. I just love it. Keep on going, i wish you the best of luck. Your gifted with music and much more brother.
Awesome vid....thanks. I have an original 1965 SR with 1971 reconed CTS alnicos. Orgi speakers were swiss cheese frame CTS ceramics. I also made two Vibroclones. Both from Bandmaster Reverb heads . One is a 1969 in combo cab with a single 15" Altec 418B and they other is 1971 BMR cloned to a 2x10 loaded with late 1960s Jensens reconed PF10s. That combo can be mated with a 1963 Treomolux cab I have. Love all old Fenders. They have the tone.
Wow brother, fantastic chops!!! Sounds to me like both amps have been dialed in exceptionally well also. Gonna continue to check out your channel. Excellent stuff!
Both amps are fantastic! Going to pick up a 71 Super Reverb this week in a trade. Very excited to hear it!
Just brilliant Richie!!!! 🙏🙌❤️🙏🙌❤️!!!!!! I’m trying to trade my Matchless Chieftain for a 2006 Custom Shop Handwired RI 64 Fender Vibroverb!!!! I bought one when they came out and sold it 🤦♂️
As always dude, really honest and just straight up tone talk!! Keep it coming man 🙌🤘
both sounded friggin SWEET!! your playing makes em sound that way too. very nice
Thanks for your cool video, I have the 64 custom shop reissue Vibroverb. Ceaser Diaz Mod, only 500 made. same attenuator. Nice playing too.
They both sound fantastic but the glassy chime of the 4/10s of a Super Reverb is a dream. Vintage 10" CTS alnico's are my fav
Lovely playing and feel! 🤟🏻
Wow. What a nice surprise to find your channel. Really enjoyed your playing.
Great video and playing richie... looking forward to seeing more from you soon.
Coming back for some ear love! Got Covid so this is soothing away the blues
HEY FRET JUNKIES! i love having you in front of the camera and hearing from you more.i think 2019 will be a great year for your channel. wow construction work thats a really hard job i remember i helped out a friend for one day doing that and it nearly killed me and that was one day! it must be hard a the moment doing construction and then making these videos on your days off.
You really should put out some instrumental music, please post info if it's already out there, love your playing. Killer tone, awesome phrasing. Cheers brother.
