Did that last lane downhill in 2012. Last little lane of the day, we'll just nip down here, won't be too bad in a standard 110 and a lightly modified 90 on ATs. Started at about 5pm, managed to get out the bottom at 7am!
No ruts to stop us sliding down off the side and no big tyres and lockers just one front winch on the 90 at the back. Was the closest thing to Camel Trophy I've ever done.
We'd sent the 2 shiny cars from the group round to the bottom to meet us so they didn't get scratched in the bushes at the top, theyd gone home and assumed they'd missed us.
Just a bent track rod on the 110 which we straightened with the winch and a dodgy clutch pedal from it being at a steep angle all night. My 90 still has the body scars from it but she drove home fine!
Hell of a lane ain’t it💪🏻 down is definitely more of a challenge than up 😳

As an old Land Rover nut who back in the late eighties/early nineties used to compete in trials, comp safari and a good deal of driving tracks and lanes, you have got my juices flowing again, so you just might be responsible for me peeing the Mrs. off and spending out on a vehicle again, and it's got to be TD5 ( with a name )....Good on you guys for cheering up a depressed old git .....LOL.

We’ve too the rack off and replaced it with the brush bars as the roof rack was getting smashed into trees constantly on the tighter lanes

Has he checked he’s not got a binding brake? Pedal going solid could be the fluid boiling. First thing I’d do is check for binding and put some new high quality fluid in. The wheels are about twice the size they should be so it wouldn’t be surprising if they were getting hot.
