I do a review of this 2002 Ford Mustang GT with a manual transmission and a Flowmaster Exhaust that's in very good condition. What do you think of these older Mustangs? Many thanks to Harrison Auto Sales. This car is no longer available to buy, but their full inventory can be seen here: www.autotrader.com/dealers/dda...

I actually really love this mustangs interior above almost any luxury car for one reason. Its simplicity. I'm one of those people that loves the drive. I love the experience of it. the speed, the handling, the sound of a vehicle. I don't need touch screens or different drive modes. shit 90 percent of the time my radio is off because the only music I need is the engine.

    • @PedalerzMN
      @PedalerzMN Před 9 lety +2

matthew clouser I don't thinks it's that simple. Mustang had a nicer interior than the Camaro, but the Silverado took the cake over the F150. Esccort vs Cavi goes to Cavi, Explorer vs S10, the explorer wins.

George Washingturnt Of course he should review it and give an honest opinion. Nobody said he couldn't (just saying). The point is how much emphasis should be placed on it, given that the design priorities of this car were performance and cost. If you feel the need to complain about the number of cup holders and storage cubbies, then this car probably wasn't designed for you.

PowerofMetal247 look thoroughly don't rush. Make sure the car was taken care of. Always have a mechanic you trust look over it before you buy it. Walk away if the seller doesn't let you have a mechanic inspect it.
Do not buy a v6 get a v8 of that body style (new edge) . They both have the same gas consumption. The Ford v6 in those Cars was prone to blown head gaskets. They are affordable cars just make sure you have money aside to any repairs along with way, they are old cars. Goodluck!

I had a 2000 Mustang GT manual, also red, purchased new in late 1999. The clutch is very heavy right out of the factory. I put on a lot of mods including headers, Flowmasters, 3.73 rear gear, intake, and short shifter. These helped me narrowly beat a friend's 1999 Cobra (also modded) at the drag strip. It sounded fantastic and was a ton of fun. I had the car nearly 5 years when it was totalled in an accident by a Focus that had lost its focus on a wet street. I enjoyed this review as a trip down memory lane - thanks Matt!

I am a true american muscle car fan, and I love Mustangs. This is a great review, and after owning a 2003 Mustang GT for two and a half years, I must say I agree on a lot of your points. I honestly don't care too much if the interior is modern or not, as long as I keep it clean and functional. My brakes are not spongey at all though, mine give great feedback and work extremely well, so I guess the car you drove might have been low on brake fluid or possibly worn discs/pads. The horsepower might not be the best, but the torque makes it one hell of a fun ride! Suspension is too soft though, but if you lower it and stiffen up the chassis correctly, it will ride literally 100 times better! Again, great review!

The 94-04 (SN95) class of mustang gets a bad rap in certain departments because they are not being tested new. Here's why...when the car is being built of the assembly line, all the rubber seals, upholstery, and many other interior bits are going to fit great for the first 5-7 years. As the the car gets older with age, these bits get brittle and old. Its just the way of life...I have 96 & 02 Mustang so I definitely would know. Thank goodness that the aftermarket really comes to rescue because you can fix most of things. I know its not a Mercedes Benz but its great a muscle car to enjoy.

I've been supporting you for years and will continue to do so. I've seen what you've done and your jntentions. Not many CZcams people connect to there audience the way you do and your enthusiasm for driving makes all of us more excited about it too.
This is an exciting time on the automotive industry to be doing what your doimg. I commend you and use you as a role model. I hope everyone that reads this (especially the haters) finds what they love to do in life and do it to the best of their potential no matter what anyone says. The End

I am not trying to hate, but he is being unfair. He is applying judgments about cars made in the 2010’s to a 90’s vehicle. Of course 90’s cars have shitty interiors. The cheapest cars Chevy makes today are nicer inside than a Cadillac was in the late 90’s.
What’s more absurd is him complaining about the clutch, this is how a stock clutch on most performance cars behave. He ought to try driving a 90’s Porsche if he thinks this is hard to depress. As we have seen recently manufacturers have found ways to make a clutch much easier to depress. Again you have to figure in the time period. A 450HP Camaro SS from today has a lighter clutch than a Dodge Neon from the 1990’s. I could go on.
There are many period specific criticisms to make about the New Edge but he misses all of them. The most relevant critique of these cars was their tendency to plow through turns, their horrible ride over bumps and their lack of power compared to their natural rival the Camaro and Firebird.

the reason why the "clutch" is so "heavy" is because they were a cable clutch... lol.. leg presses.

As a 2000 v6 and v8 owner, the clutch is not heavy at all. Keep in mind it is an American v8 MUSTANG which was specifically designed with no sugar coating. It is the working class muscle car. It's not a corvette, which is why it is as popular as it is. Also, if he would actually do some research on the car before putting out a video like this, it would be appreciated. Mustangs are made extremely lighter than most muscle cars such as the comaro, charger, and challanger making it much more confident in corners. I can whip mine through a corner like that no sweat.
Muscle cars, especially a mustang are not meant to be driven with your nose and pinkies up. Get a grip.

They are not expensive to buy, you get one to make it your own. I changed the suspension, had a short throw shifter... and many many more mods... the flowmaster sounds like crap on the 4.6l motor.... and the reviewer loved it, imagine if he had a good sounding exhaust on there lol If you want to hear a good exhaust, I have my 2000 GT exhaust video on my channel ;) (the first video I ever uploaded to youtube)

Great review of he 02 gt that you were driving . I just hope this does not shy people away from the 02 gt I mean a base gt comes with 260 hp with no mods. I have the premium 02 gt first off I love love love it I've had corvettes 350zs. The reason I mention that is when you start modifications consider the price. So I'm just gonna put a few things done to my 02 that correct the issues you found with the one you were driving. I installed a roush clutch system with a roush short throw shifter clutch and shifter are so nice you can shift with your finger. I have a cold air intake 24lb injectors Ac delco super coils front sway bar a 78 mm throttle body with shorty headers and flow masters with x pipes tuned with a bama tuner and an sct chip as far as the ride I replaced the rear axel with a Gmc axel with 4-10 gears so she rides smooth she sits on nitto Xtra wide zr tires in the rear as far as the interior you forgot to mention the glove box plus you are not gonna buy a mustang to move your house with although being in the military I have put all my gear in the trunk with room to spare as far as the interior their are so many upgrades that can be done you can buy a bluetooth\ WiFi system for it. Change the instrument panels. I'm not come posting this to brag about my car but only take up for this car American Muscle is a great company and most of my parts were bought from them except the clutch. I'm not much of a racer and my car looks like a sleeper but the exhaust gets me caught from time to time I have ran wrx sti's camaros and my favorite cobalt ss lol I hate those guys. I'm just saying I got my gt for 3k put 6k in it and I enjoy driving over my c5 corvette and the 350z I had more control sounds way better and less attention and not to mention you will pay over 9k for either one of them with out doing any mods plus the mustang 4.6 and 5.0 engines are a breeze to maintain when you start on the ls3 engines and the z engine it pricey and more compact thanks for reading

haha I took my prom date to the dance and to after prom in my 2001 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra. She loved it. And mine loves the backroads! full performance suspension, caster/camber plates, 285-35-18s on the rear, and 265-35-18s on the front. I will however agree with the cheapness of the interior. and yes the window screech is annoying! But when you invest in a muscle car, you have to forget about luxury! great review of the GT, very much spot on. The "new edge" style is my favorite! 99-04 for life!
