Gabriel released this cover right after he was eliminated from AGT. In fact, we heard it during AGT's finals. Fans of Gabriel were agitated & heartbroken. Gabriel responded on his Instagram the most noble & gracious way & told us to not respond negatively because that's not what he's about. I believe he freed himself from the AGT umbrella & the heartbreak he must've felt, with this song. You can hear it in his voice & see it in his body language. ❤

The rendition that he covers here is song that Adam Lambert sang in front of Cher at the Kennedy Center Honors. He wanted to do a stripped back version that he had to convince the powers that be to allow him to do it. A standing ovation and brought Cher to tears. Gabriel does this beautifully and with Gabriel's back story about being eliminated from AGT and doing it for the fans is touching, always love to hear his covers.
