I used this method to clean some of my ceramic camping mugs that have been in need of some tlc and it came out great! I would have done it long ago if I knew it was that easy
Awesome Nina, thanks for the feedback, Mike
Perfect, I do that already! Used it on stained coffee cups as well
Well you're definitely on the ball Barb. I will definitely try it out on coffee stains. Thanks for the tip, Mike 🧔
Thanks for sharing that great tip.
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. I appreciate it, Mike 🧔
Awesome job
Thanks! 🧔
Appreciate the video sir!
Thanks 🧔
Thank you
You're welcome Brenda. I appreciate the feedback, Mike 🧔
Oh i will do this. Thank you.
If you think about it, please come back and let everyone know how it work for you. Thanks Mike 🧔
Good tip , thanks for sharing , God bless !
Thanks 🧔
Nice! I use that on stained coffee cups too. Dunno if you'll use it but I've got a couple other tips. For finer texture in ground beef, I add the beef along with some beef broth to a cold pan, then mix it before heating and during. It takes longer though. And if a careless roommate damages the seasoning on your cast iron pan, run it through the self cleaning cycle in your oven to remove any remnants of the old seasoning and then you can reseason it.
That's a good tip about using it on coffee stains. FYI, you cannot put an enameled Dutch oven in a self-cleaning range. The maximum temperature for the typical enameled Dutch oven is 500 Degrees. In order for a self-cleaning range to operate, it's must get to at least eight hundred and fifty degrees. That's why the door locks and so clean. Mike 🧔
@@KitchenTipsOnline for sure. I was just meaning a regular cast iron pan
@@frotwithdanger Yeah I thought that's what you were saying but I just wanted to make sure everyone else knows about it, Mike
@@frotwithdanger not wanting to start a fight, but that’s also a easy way to warp a perfectly good cast iron piece.
Hm. Never thought of using that for anything but laundry. I have some old Corningware I might try that on. Thanks, Mike! 💕💕💕
Hi Nancy, nice to hear from you again. After you try it, please come on back and let everyone know how it works, Mike 🧔
@@KitchenTipsOnline Will do! 💕💕💕
Thank you! I'm going to try this, Do you have a video on cleaning stainless steel cutlery that turns dark?
You're welcome, thank you for watching my video. I do not have a tip for you on how to repair dark stains on stainless steel cutlery. Perhaps someone who reads this can offer up a suggestion for you, Mike 🧔
Hi, brilliant tip again thank you……could you please do a video on how to clean and season a cast iron pan please? I’m a new owner of one and want to look after it properly…..thank you for all your great tips xxxx
Hi there, thanks for the kind words! I would do a video on everything cast iron except I would be competing with the expert! Here's a link to one of his videos that will help you keep your cast iron in perfect shape forever. Mike 🧔 czcams.com/video/D513SUUfMiE/video.html
@@KitchenTipsOnline thank you so much Mike for the link, I really appreciate it xxxxxx
i had a feeling it was going to be oxiclean! I've never thought to use it on my dutch oven. Will do. I'll never forget the day I first tried this technique on an old coffee thermos that was caked with brown residue that we didn't know how to remove. It was like a coffee volcano! Bright and shiny like it was brand new when I was done.
Ed, thanks for the tip and taking the time to leave feedback. I appreciate it, Mike 🧔
Oh ok!! Never thought of this cleaning method. Thanks & how is Toby doing?
Hi Patty. Thanks for your feedback after you try it come on back and let everyone know how it worked for you. Toby is getting long in the tooth. He's about 85% death, and probably 60% blind. He's 14 years old and he has a enlarged liver. The good news is I put a ramp by the couch so he can climb up and get comfortable 🙂 Mike
Aww poor little guy. He's like a family member I'm sure. Take care
would it work on other utensils with similar dirt and grime on it?
I don't see why not but I haven't tried it myself. If you happen to try it, come on back and let everyone know how it works, Mike 🧔
..another great tip, keep safe..
Hey Bob you did it! Thanks as always, Mike 🧔
Hello my name is Mike too Mike LoL 😂 I’m a new subscriber to your channel and I love it. Question: Will this cleaning technique work for AIR FRYERS as well????
Mike, I have not tried cleaning an air fryer using the method demonstrated in the video. However, I believe that it may damage the baked on paint use inside most air fryers. That's why air fryers that have a removable basket and a removable pan are the best option. That's because you can put those in the dishwasher. Welcome aboard, Mike
I use a similar technique with a capfyl of bleach and filling the Dutch oven with hot water. I let it soak overnight and it airways comes out spotless. You obviously need to do a thorough wash and rinse when finished to remove all traces off the bleached water.
John, thanks for the tip, Mike 🧔
Does this work on non ceramic coated Dutch ovens? I have my great grandmother's and I love it, many meals cooked in this. But it needs a good cleaning and I don't want to damage it.
Well if it was your grandmother's Dutch oven most likely it is cast iron which is almost impossible to damage. I recommend you watch the expert on cast iron Cowboy Kent, he'll set you straight, Mike czcams.com/video/a5NbQwzwUTw/video.html
You have a great VOICE, and should be a narrator for audible books
Thank you very much for the kind words! Mike 🧔
How do you clean sticky grim off the tiles behind your stove?
Open up your doors and windows and use oven cleaner. I think you'll be impressed at how well it will works. Try it on a small section first just to be safe, Mike
The easiest way to clean a dutch oven is to put it enough water to cover what you need to clean bring it up to a boil and add about two tablespoons of baking soda and then stir it, not with a metal whisk. Cover it and let it get cold and then pour it out much easier and less expensive than OxiClean
Let's hope the OxiClean works better on it than it does laundry cuz I've literally soaked laundry and OxiClean for up to 3 to 4 days and oily stains are still there. And people need to know never use OxiClean on anything metal and let it set talk about discoloration I'm learning that on my aluminum cookie sheet
Whatever.
@@nightstringers I can't speak to using it on any type of pan, since I've never tried that, but I do know that at least here in my house, using White Revive Oxy gets my clothes really clean though. If somethings really dirty I use more of it. Not sure if you've tried that particular oxy or not though.
I'm going to try this the next time I use my Dutch. I need to know: is the cleaning agent your own concoction/recipe or is it a commercial brand?
Nothing special, the cleaner displayed on your screen near the end of the video, is exactly the same product you buy off of the grocery store shelf. Mike 🧔
@@KitchenTipsOnline I totally missed that. Got some of that already. As always, live the videos amd they are helpful. Keep up the great work!
Hello
Which cleaner can I use?
I have an air fryer oven and the sheet pan it’s terrible 😢
What type of material is your air fryer sheet pan made? I need to know before I can make a recommendation on what type of cleaner you can use on it. Mike
@@KitchenTipsOnline stainless steel, it’s the cuisinart air fryer oven.
@@mariacristinagonzalezch2557 If you're sure it is stainless steel then you can use oven cleaner on it. You can put it in your kitchen sink, spray it with oven cleaner, let it sit for about 30 minutes and then use an SOS pad to finish it off, Mike 🧔
Use baking soda & boil for 8-10 minutes
I'm grateful for your suggestion. I've experimented with baking soda in the past, but I never quite achieved the results I desired. That's why I transitioned to the method showcased in the video, which has consistently delivered the outcomes I was looking for. Mike
Bar Keepers Friend works the same way.
Eliza, I got to tell you that was not my experience. I spent six months coming up with the method demonstrated in the video. I tried everything from Bar Keepers Friend, to baking soda and many other cleaners. And trust me, the method demonstrated in the video is the absolute best way to clean a dutch oven, Mike 🧔
Not in my experience, not even close.
I ruined my Le Creuset by cooking No Knead Bread in it. Will this work for my situation?
Even if it is scratched, the method demonstrated in the video will clean it. Then all you have to do in the future before you use it is rub the inside with vegetable oil. That will help prevent stuff from sticking, Mike 🧔
After using this method, my Le Creuset dutch oven is somewhat cleaner, but nowhere near the lovely white like yours.
Jane, it was a newer dutch oven I used in the video. I made another video using my Dutch oven that's about 15 years old and you will see for yourself if you want to watch the video, it is permanently stained. Below is the link, Mike czcams.com/users/shortsM9rt-iV61UA?feature=share
This might work on the ceramic crock of my slow cooker.
It should 🧔
Bleached residue is still residue. It will keep causing food to stick and burn, even if you can't see it. Oxi-Clean is fine as a final step, but you should do your best to get the staining residue off first. Enamel is a non-porous glass-like substance that is impervious to stains, so if you see stains there's something there other than the enamel.
I appreciate your input. All I know is this, it works! Every time I use it, I clean it using the method demonstrated in the video and it is spotless. Thank, Mike 🧔
@@KitchenTipsOnline classic deflection and ignoring the truth of the matter.
The last time I cleaned my le crueset I put bleach in almost boiling water and let it sit. I guess this is the same idea, but vastly better because no bleach fumes.
I think you'll find that the method demonstrated in the video will work much better than bleach. Notwithstanding the fact that it's virtually fume free. Mike 🧔
Does anyone know of a good place to get an oxygen cleaner that actually works. IMHO, Oxi-Clean brand isn't worth the money, its mostly detergent. All and Sun brands were good, but I can't find those any longer. In the past I've used a brand called Seventh Generation that was great, but I can't find them any longer.
Since the enamel is a glass product - I’m going to try a glass stovetop cleaner - I never trust a site like this one that doesn’t give complete information.
Dishwasher tablet does the same with boiling water
Thanks for the tip, Mike 🧔
First to comment! Yay!
Awesome Priscilla! Thanks for the feedback, Mike 🧔
Am I missing something..he didn’t say what the white stuff was...is it bicarbonate soda? Thanks
I mentioned the name of the cleaner near the end of the video. It's OxiClean, Mike 🧔
@@KitchenTipsOnline thank you,I must of missed it!
@@KitchenTipsOnline can I ask isn’t that stuff for laundry? I’m from the UK and I’m not sure if it’s the same stuff. Thanks
Yep it's the exact same stuff. Just use plenty of hot water. Mike Mike 🧔
OXI CKEAN ok. Is this will leave any smell 👃
Rami, no it leave any smell if you rinse it thoroughly, Mike 🧔
