I did the same from Mumbai to Krishnagiri (100 kms after Bangalore) with my wife. Just three months ago. Around the same time you traveled. We drove Honda Amaze without Cruze. Non stop. It was real fun. Single hand drive _ non stop

I believe the Mumbai -Bangalore Highway fun is less now due to many diversions after entering Karnataka patch and specifically The Hubbali Single Lane Patch
Real Fun is after Tumkur specifically where those Windmills are there on side 😊😊❤️❤️☺️☺️
@Pushkaraj Exactly. However if it is an empty six lane highway without traffic. That also will be boring. Without ups and downs the journey will have less memories.
I did ladakh two years bk in car with my wife. It was life lasting memories with lots of stories. Made lots of friends during the journey. The road was bad so it made even more interesting 😀

Hi,
Me and my friend did Pune Bangalore 29th April hault and then Thrissur 30th April 2923 in Kerala in Honda City got average fuel efficiency 16 kmpl.
Retun was in TATA harrier automatic same route but I drove from Bangalore to Pune non Stop, single handedly. Only snacks and bio break.
We started from hotel in yashwantpur at 4.30am and reached Pune at around 4.30pm approx 835 or 850 km....this timing is less than the time shown by Google.....roads after kolhapur are absolutely fantastic with no nuisance of two wheelers, rikshaw etc. Powerful engine and good suspension of TATA harrier get the credit.

Hi I recently came Thanjavur to Bangalore. We covered a 435 Km in 7 hrs with breaks. 60% state highway and 40% National Highway. Your trip was interesting to note. Single person driving and my wife accompanied.

When you travel inter state, what happens if local traffic police stops you? I meant since we pay road tax in our own state, that doesnt allow us to drive in another state, so do you pay something before entering into any other state? Or how do you tackle the nasty traffic police!
I've never done a road trip so this might look like a stupid question, but will be grateful if you can answer.

You can drive freely. However, if you are planning to shift permanently, or for a period of more than a year, then you will have to obtain a No Objection Certificate from the RTO where your vehicle was registered and apply for fresh registration in the RTO of the new state.

Private vehicle can drive and visit any states in india .I used to stay and drive my vehicle out side Maharashtra 3-4 months . No worries keep your docs update .

Fuel cost till Bengaluru was around 6000
We filled at Khalapur Fuel Pump then we directly filled at Karnataka near Huballi and then No stop till Bengaluru 😇😇
Fuel economy was around 17 km per litre
