I have a 1055 Cat. Fantastic machine, but it definitely gets knocked around on a manhole. But it doesn’t get stuck on stone and will push a truck whether he has his brakes on hard or not.
Tracks will do that just fine. You just cant make sharp turns. The tires are definately a plus in tighter, puzzle piece areas. Other than that, tracks are far superior in traction and mat smoothness, allowing faster paving speeds with higher quality. Especially with a vogle. Downside is maintenance. For low speed city streets, this is an acceptable setup. For highways, airport runways, race tracks and other tight tolerance projects, we wouldnt even think to use a tire setup.
Damn our paver here in Germany is on tracks. Shit is horrible to drive I like what you guys have.
If you can't keep the paver straight over a manhole...you need to get off the paver...
So now its closed and filled with Asphalt....
