    Thanks from Canada! Just ordered these springs and this video is the only good vid I've found to give me an idea of what I'll be into when I do the work myself at the shop hahaha. Cheers!

    having watched your video several times now, given it likes, and subscribed to your channel :) I've gone out this morning and bought a spring compression tool, this weekend is ANZAC day here in aussie land - I'm planning to swap out my springs with a set of Eibach Sport springs - thanks for sharing this video, it's given me the confidence to do it myself rather than pay someone up to $500AUD to do it for me.

      @@DreamscapeAutomotive bruh, i got the rear springs in myself, easy peazy.
      As for the tie rod link bolt, you need a bit to steady the bolt tip at the end while you undo the nut is the proper way to do it, nevertheless you used the vice grip to steady the bolt.
      The nut and bolt holding the suspension strut to the steering knuckle was easy but found problem with being able to take the suspension strut away from the steering knuckle!!! Needs a spreading tool to spread the steering knuckle away from the suspension strut.
      Taking it to a workshop on Monday
      Meanwhile while my rear is lower, I get a fault with suspension on my dash popup after 2 or 3 minutes of driving. Limits my speed to 80 km/h . Once the front is done, I'm hoping it gets sorted.
      Bottom line is the front is not for the novice DYI mechanic :)

      @@GizmoGTI hey bro! Glad you managed to get a bit done!
      Yeah so we used a pry bar to spread it, then an air hammer to drive it down and off of the strut, then reversed the process to get it back on!
      My new video is coming tomorrow and I explained that I got that fault too. It was my rear right level sensor that was faulty, I think they are very sensitive and easy to damage when you have the rear suspension apart. If you get the workshop to read the codes I think you’ll find it’s the same with your car!
      I agree the front was harder than the back! Also, my car is going for 4 wheel alignment on the 30th, everything is a little off now after the springs have settled!

      @@DreamscapeAutomotive to pry open the steering knuckle you need a spreader tool, look it up 177589003100 - you can probably get a universal spreader tool.
      so how did you fix the sensor, info you're providing is flakey mate? crikeys!!

    • @GizmoGTI
      @GizmoGTI Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@DreamscapeAutomotive you really need to make that clear on what you did to get the suspension strut off the steering knuckle - it's not for the faint hearted to do this without the proper tools. you want to instead say you used a strut knuckle spreader - the part no. W177589003100. You need to check the repair/maintenance manual if your workshop has it and make sure any future videos are complete and accurate - this is no joke bro, i'm kind of left feeling upset now. so what did you do to fix the sensor?

    I have H&R lowering springs on my 45s and the driving quality does suffer 😭 however it’s totally worth it for how the sexy the car looks and lots lowered! My recommendation is to drive with the comfort suspension settings…that makes a difference. But keep up the great work I love the content dude, I hate the fact that very few people do videos of this car. Non the less keep it up!

      Hey mate, happy someone else feels the same haha! In race it gets unbearable. I’m also experiencing some arch rub on the back wheels as I have 15mm spacers, might have to drop them to 12mm to give the arch some extra space when the body rolls in harsh corners! I spend most of my time in comfort anyway to be honest, so I’m happy. Yeah I know, I’m hoping to become one of the few trusted a45s content creators, try and fill that space haha! Thanks for watching!!

      @@DreamscapeAutomotive I got the spacers on too, rear wheels scrape on the arches when compressed in a dip or on hard cornering. I have Eibach sports spring to go on, but don't feel comfortable yet in doing it just yet due to the wheels scraping the arches. I was considering the H&R as they sit lower than the Eibachs. I might do it myself though thanks to your video, but will look at borrowing a set of spring clamping tool for the fronts

      @DreamscapeAutomotive  Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@GizmoGTI yeah, I’ve just ordered 12mm spacers for the back I’ll drop down from 15 to 12 and see if that lets it pass without rubbing. When I am in a hard corner the arch hits the tyre wall and it’s making a mark on the tyre wall!

    Great video, thanks for sharing. Quick question - do you have to inform your insurance company about your springs and spacers? They look fantastic 👍🍻

      You are welcome! It’s always advised to tell your insurance, especially when your car is all over CZcams! Some insurance companies will have a list of mods that don’t need declared, best to check the small print! Thanks I’m glad you like it, they have definitely made a big difference!
