My personal lore: this is bf's xatu, he was saved by bf when he was little, he saw the future and saw that gf and his father will give bf the Tabi treatment, but he wont let them do it to his dear trainer.

Honestly Xatu is way better as a creepy pokemon than hypno, Ruby's dex entry outright mentions that the reason it stands still is because it's busy dealing with all of the horrible revelations of what's to come in the future that it is constantly forced to see, there is much more potential there for horror than "haha funny big nose guy kidnaps people and eats dreams"
If a Xatu is acting out, there must be a good reason for it.
Maybe it Saw something so horrible that it just started acting out and becoming dangerous

Honestly in the context of Xatu, the long pause works well. The Pokedex says that it'll just stand still most of the time because of the future it sees. The pause could be Xatu freezing and staring into space, which gives GF time to find her Sneasel.
I thought that was supposed to be a Natu (Xatu's pre-evolution) in the second part
I like how the hypno replacement here is Xatu as river’s fan made D side hypno songs are based on Xatu.(and River was also a member of the Hypno’s lullaby team)

Later in the song if you didn’t know, the Pokémon that (SUPPOSEDLY) gf sends out is actually a sneasel, a Pokémon from the same generation as Hypnos replacement, xatu.

@@pancitogameplay i personally think that it could be cyrius's crobat, against cynthia's garchomp as the player, since cyrius's crobat is always seen with a lot of mystery, due to them evolving via friendship dispite cyrius having no compation for pokemon
my head cannon is that after the event of pokemon platinum, cyrius would have been missing in the distortion world, but his pokemons escaped and ended up forgetting him, except for crobat who want to take revenge on the world that took everything from him, his first victim was dawn (that he didn't kill, since he would use her intelect (the player was lucas) to know others place), and later he ended up meeting cynthia's garchomp, who was listening to some music and decided to rap battle crobat to gives others time to hide

Personally I really like the Alakazam concept. I actually made a concept art that I’ll likely never use. I’m not the best artist, so I’ll never use it.
Everyone keeps saying that d side hypno should be someone else. I honestly think Xatu is an awesome replacement and works just fine! I can honestly imagine an alternate storyline instead of Xatu doing the same thing as Hypno.
Listening to this makes me wonder so much on how D Side Lost Cause would sound like.

I think Left Unchecked should be named in D-Sides "Endless Forecast" because Xatu always see bad predictions.
I think “Hopeless” would be a better name, especially because it conveys the same message as the OG song’s name
Malamar Can work to because he can hypnotize people as well he literally does exactly that and one episode of Pokémon. Mewtwo would fit this role of Hypno as well.
Also the replacements for Shinto would be a bootleg version of Mew called Kitnya and Hekna.

I thought xatu was a forgotten pokemon but looks like some people still remember him,glad to see that he has a great potential of being the d-side replacement of hypno.
"Xatu stands rooted and still in one spot all day long. People believe that this Pokémon does so out of fear of the terrible things it has foreseen in the future."
Xatu is a good fit for this and this seems more of a warning song of what is to come, Xatu's body language doesn't seem to have much threatening energy, so he may be trying to warn GF and here partner (Sneasel). I also like the fact that you actually did something that d side would do and changed the look of him and/or with the jacket look that looks like an aviator and the patches as well as a strange symbol like character on his chest. So what I have to do is keep up the great work comrade.

I like the option of Xatu, though in my opinion I feel Musharna would work better for Hypno, since they are both based on the Baku (Musharna could also utilise that one dex entry stating how it sometimes emits a dark mist that brings your nightmares to life in place of the pendulum, with dark mist notes appearing which can create visual hallucinations relating to things and characters Girlfriend has been shown to fear throughout the modding community)

I was thinking that D-Sides Hypno could be Banette, and GF would be replaced with D-Sides Pump. The lore would be similar to the Pokedex entries for Banette
X: A doll that became a Pokémon over its grudge from being junked. It seeks the child that disowned it.
Y: Strong feelings of hatred turned a puppet into a Pokémon. If it opens its mouth, its cursed energy escapes.
Omega Ruby: Banette generates energy for laying strong curses by sticking pins into its own body. This Pokémon was originally a pitiful plush doll that was thrown away.
Alpha Sapphire: A cursed energy permeated the stuffing of a discarded and forgotten plush doll, giving it new life as Banette. The Pokémon's energy would escape if it were to ever open its mouth.
The child that abandoned this specific Banette may have been Skid, who it took away to enact revenge on. Pump, wondering where his friend went, decided to look for him, encountering the Banette while searching in the woods, leading to the week's events

That would work, however it's Pokedex entry is very lighthearted and explains that it saves people so I think something like Xatu would fit more because it has an eerie backstory without being outright horror inducing. Kind of like Hypno, they built up what he could do in the mod maybe Xatu would be the same.
Pokémon that could replace hypno for a d-sides concepts are Alakazam, Drifblim (or drifbloom),Mr. Mime... psychic types in general are good replacement
I don't know why Xatu became a concept, but this turned out cool loking (also, I think his shiny form helped with the sinister desing)

I believe this song happens because bf is unconscious and Xatu sees no future of gf and bf together with it, so it lashes out and attacks gf because it sees her as the threat. The long pauses are gf falling asleep due to hypnosis and the only reason Sneasel comes out is due to gf throwing it's pokeball in a last resort. Sneasel wins and Xatu flees with it's trainer, because seeing it's trainer die, is a future it refuses to stand idly by and watch...

I thought that aswell at first but Pokemon in my opinion has a better pool of pocket monsters with their own identities and ideas.
@@chef8447 I mean, I would disagree, pokemon has the better art style, but digimon has the better monsters.
There are over 1,400 digimon, all of them with their own unique bios and at least two special attacks, one of them is bound to fit like a glove.
Personally, if I were to replace hypno with a digimon it would probably either be Vamdemon, or one of the other vampiric digimon, I've only played a few of the games, but IIRC in the anime they are occasionally shown to be able to hypnotize people, or if you wanted to go for pure creepy/horror factor there are digimon like Death-X-Dorugamon who is basically a zombie who literally rips other digimon's digicores/souls out to eat them
