I had a similar riding background; I spent years riding and had lots of confidence until I took a really nasty fall. That was around 6 years ago and I still haven’t gotten my confidence back under saddle. But I bought myself a small pony a few years back, and I spend lots of time with him and I look forward to reaching my son to ride in the next few years. I’m quite happy with my feet on the ground, as long as I can still be around horses! :)
Loved your video, look forward to seeing more!

Kylie Payeur That’s so good that you can teach your children how to ride! I think for me as soon as I had that bad fall I knew I needed to get back on a horse as soon as possible or I never would do again😊

I have been taking lessons for five years and I am currently riding a pony named Dreamer. She reminded me of the off the track Thoroughbreds. I love the thumbnail

And I can also agree the way that falls like that take your confidence Straight away
But I'm glad that we're both bad in the saddle 💓💓💓💓💓💓

I just begun my story 2 years ago when I did a trail ride and instantly loved it. Now I`m still learning to jump one metre and gallop on a retired race horse (Thoroughbred).

I can mostly relate to your story. I recently had an accident at the barn, and it didn't exactly take any confidence away from me, but it did bring my happiness and my being excited to go to the barn WAY down. I'm already recovering mentally, but I don't think I will ever be able to bring myself to ride my horse in a neckrope again.
If you want to hear the story:
My friends and I decided to ride our horses bareback and in halters, just for fun a few weeks ago. Everything was going great... it was soooo fun! But then, I decided to ride my horse in a neckrope once everybody was off of their horses. I trusted him... he was fairly well trained in a neckrope, and has been ridden with one on... with other horses in the arena before (with no problems). But he got distracted by my friend's horse that was tied up to a post inside of the arena, and he walked towards her. This mare is VERY feisty, and will kick literally any horse that comes close to her. And she did. My horse got barrel kicked several times (with me still on), and it took several moments to get my horse out of the situation. It was terrifying... yes. I was scared for my life. But most of all, it was embarrassing. It was so foolish of me to ride my horse like that with other horses near, and it took no time before everyone at my barn heard about it. I feel ashamed to even walk around my barn. People probably see me as "reckless" and "dangerous" to ride with. I have mostly come over this, but whenever I see the girl who's horse kicked mine, I get so embarrassed and can't even look at her confidently. I just wish I hadn't have done that one, silly thing.

Horses, Animals and Everything That must have been awful! You shouldn’t blame yourself though, we all make mistakes once in a while and even so, it probably would have been safer if the feisty horse was tied up outside of the arena, so don’t blame yourself too much! Accidents happen :)

@@Rosiebunneh Thank you so much! This really means a lot to me 😜. (edit): btw, I have had bunnies for most of my life 😄. They are literally the best pets ever. A lot of work... but it all pays off! Unfortunately they have all passed away (I have pictures of them on my channel)... but I would take another one any day! You're channel seems awesome! Wish I had found this when I first got my bunnies, so I didn't have to figure everything out myself as a second grader lol 😂.

When I was about 4 and a half a horse called Marmalade who has sadly died rold over with me when trotting across the arena and nearly mild me and for some reason I continued and it was the best decision of my life

My sister is five years older than me and I’ve always been inspired to ride like her I begged my parents to let me ride but they refused as I was too young I was at least five to six at the time and three years later when I turned nine I had my first ever riding lesson however it only lasted a few months as the pay was too high and I was completing nothing I never learned how to properly trot or canter or even keep a good walk going my dad had forced me to quit in rage I was upset to say the least because I was leaving my passion for horses behind and had no right to talk about anything ‘horses’ because I knew nothing.
Skip four years later to when I turned 13 I came back from helping with horses on a stable with my sister and was talking about what I would want to do (my father works away from us but was returning late that same night) an idea popped in my mind that I wanted to start horse riding again my dad seemed unsure about the idea but went along with it anyway we had looked at a riding school we looked at four years ago in that moment now five I had arrived and started my lesson with a large pony named ‘sally’ I did the basics of walk to trot and learned a lot in that time skip forward a month my horse had bolted and boy oh boy was that a great start to my horse riding life! (No sarcasm) my instructor noticed I was fairly calm and didn’t scream but more or less tried to calm down the horse and went back into trot she decided my seat and reaction was good enough to let me start cantering it took a lot of struggle and patience but I got there in the end we can never be perfect I still struggle with some ponies to this day. Only a few weeks later when I had my canter down (although I was a bit bouncy still) I started to jump! My instructor let me do my first flat and told me I had a good jumping seat so we continued with our jumping and reached great heights and miniature courses we did cross country as well and I learned how to do a dressage trot accidentally 😅 I had jumped so much my coordinations went bad XD my horse bolted after a jump and I lost my stirrups I cantered around the whole arena trying to get my stirrups back but after a while decided to slow down instead surprised how I didn’t fall to be honest. We started with flat work after a few more jumping lessons and started working with their more steady horse unfortunately he’s scared of poles so I can’t jump but he’s amazing he helped me level up into a more advanced group and improve how I ride I’ve been riding for over a year now but am delayed due to coronavirus but I can’t wait to get back in the saddle to see what’s in stock!
Thanks for reading my story. Or even having the patience to sit there and read this many thanks and stay safe from corona virus!
