  • This lecture was co-hosted by the Latin American Library (LAL) and The Tulane Alumni Emeritus Club.
Dr. Morrill is a renowned authority on modern Mexican silver. Titled ‘Mexican Silver Captures the Light of Genius,’ her talk will be illustrated by the unique archival treasures held at the LAL from the Sutherland-Taxco Collection and the Ulrich Family Collection of William Spratling Papers. Audience members will also be introduced, for the first time, to the extraordinary collection of original silver jewelry pieces donated to the LAL by another Newcomb alum, Pamela Bain. Join us for an engaging experience that will enrich your understanding of a significant chapter in the history of modern Mexican art and its connections to New Orleans and Tulane. We are grateful to Dr. Morrill for sharing her expertise and for her enduring contributions to Tulane, the LAL, and the global art historical landscape.
