This concerto is typical of the stylistic ambiguities of B.A. Zimmermann, who came one generation after the "second vieenese school". He succeeded however in building up a coherent and attractive score for oboe and small orchestra.

Not very attractive concerto, but a valuable contribution to otherwise small concerto repertoire for oboe.
