City did not dodge a bullet. Alexis made it clear in an interview a few months back, he wanted to tear up his contract with Utd after his very first training session. He's always been unhappy there. That's the reason for his terrible form.
At City it wouldn't have been the same case. City wouldve kept him as a superstar and on his form. There's a reason why world class players have been doing badly at Utd over recent memory, and there's a reason why players have been thriving at City. They're 2 different clubs and would have got 2 different players out of Alexis Sanchez.

He wanted to tear his contract because he couldn't cut it in such a big club and because mourniho never really wanted him in the first place. And since we are here making "assumptions" oh how good he would have been, here are a few quality players who could cut it in United and have. Ronaldo, scholes, giggs, roy keane, van Persie, rooney and I could go on. Don't tell me this bullshit of different managers and era because you are talking about "superstars " well those players are for damn sure superstars. So go away with your stupid assumptions. Here's another fact for you. Bruno fernandes has a better goal to assist ratio this season than de bruyne. Well I guess he just could "cut it " in United.maybe he had the balls and Sanchez couldn't. Attack something with facts and not stupid assumptions. United is still the biggest club in the world. Football is built on trophies and history.
