A gorgeous scene that with excellent storytelling! Plus it’s nice for the people to be accepting and supportive of Kubo’s magic and stories compared to Coraline, Paranorman and The Boxtrolls.
Too bad the boy's story was cut short.
Yeah, which is kind of a breath of fresh air. Most stories in Japan have the townsfolk killing or even burning people that show off this sort of magic unless they're protected by an emperor or feudal lord.
Animating origami so smooth, you'd think it was CG.
I'd say that about the entire film, honestly- the level of precision this studio has with movement and detail is mind boggling.
It's so great seeing movies still made with stop motion animation. Keep it up laika.
When i first saw this movie I thought it was 3d animated 😅
Not only this scene alone must've taken months to animate, but it also screams so much passion, ambition and creativity in the storytelling it almost makes me wanna shed a tear. It seriously pains my heart that both Laika and this movie remain underrated.
