In the Bible we are called to forgive and pray for people. (It doesn’t mean that that person shouldn’t have consequences. ) When we do that, it frees God to handle things in HIS way. We also take vengeance with our mouths if we are not careful. It is God’s place to take His vengeance if He deems it appropriate. We all know God would not want a young girl to have suffered through what she did. God will deal with this. Here and in eternity. Put your faith in God to do what is right. Do not take your eyes off God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit of God. 🙏🏻Cry out to Him. He hears us. pay attention to your heart motive. A person may say one thing, but is thinking another in his heart. God reads our hearts.

    Hello James,
Thank you for your comments. I have attended (and am a member) of Gateway and have been for seven years . We are shocked and devastated as a a body. It is my view that when things like this happens, you follow God's heart, not pure loyalty to any man. If things are wrong in God's eyes, they are wrong period. Although I love the worship and teaching from the church, I was considering whether to remain. What I decided to do is pray and see what the reaction of the elders would be, how they worded their response, and see if their primary concern was Cindy. What I have seen is the elders who love the Lord and hear His voice, first addressed Cindy as a victim. There were tears and it was clear that she received nothing but respect, compassion, and encouragement and emotional support. A victim is a victim. We (Gateway) totally support Cindy and will continue to pray and protect her through this.
Many things are being said about Gateway Church, know that we serve the Lord Jesus Christ, love all people, and will stand for what God stands for. Of course we are praying for Pastor and his family. This happened 40 years ago but the sin is particularly disturbing. I for one know the Lord is dealing with Pastor so I will leave that to Him (the Lord). The word says that all that is hidden will be revealed in the Light by the Lord's timing. This is of the Lord so I know that ultimately this will be used for good. God is so good.

It's now coming to light that other leaders there have been involved in the same thing, which is very disturbing. Are these the same leaders you're referring to here? I am so angry that they are still downloading it by calling it a “moral failure”. This shows no remorse, no repentance. They are still pulling in the people who have been giving to them and encouraging them to keep at it. Of course bc then they will lose their money.
What was the positive?? I worked there, attended there. My dad was in staff. I still know staff and no, they’re not doing the right things.
Leadership knew. I don’t agree with bashing. But the truth needs to be shared. They downplay it. It was a CRIME. Not just a “moral failure”. No elder that has been there should be there. There needs to be a whole take down. I can tell you because I know people that trust is very thin right now

I would refer you to Proverbs 1: 24 - 33. Luke 23: 6 -13. Jesus did not speak to Herod the King who had taken the head of John the Baptist. Herod had long desired to see Jesus he had heard about him and was hoping to see some signs. Herod before he killed John the Baptist talked with him and was interested in him. Yet when he appeared before the Son of God, Jesus did not speak. In proverbs God says because you ignored my counsel, refused to listen I will laugh at your calamity. People need to see that they are in great peril if they reject Christ.

Sorry. I disagree. I was a huge fan of Robert’s ministry like so many others. While Robert sails off into the sunset with his $117, 000,000 plus, and a disgraced reputation, he can live the rest of his days in comfort. Debbie, his wife, told Cindy that they ‘forgave her’. This does not sound like there is any understanding nor empathy for the trauma Robert inflicted on her. Cindy initially asked for $50,000 dollars and Robert ‘countered’ with an offer of $25,000 and that she sign an NDA!! Does this sound like a man who cares about the grievous pain he inflicted on her? This is not ‘Let’s make a deal’. Had Robert shown true remorse and done his best to right an awful situation, I would have felt a little differently. This situation makes me sick to my stomach. The poor young girl and family!! Robert is lucky he is not in jail. He made a horrible decision once, and he continues to make bad decisions. This, in my mind indicates that he is not remorseful… only that he got caught. Sad! My heart goes out to Cindy and her family. May God richly bless her, and may she find some semblance of peace. 🙏

Pastor Morris isn’t happily sipping tea on some yacht, bashing in his millions. God tells us to hear a WHOLE matter before we’re make judgement. We’ve heard Cindy’s side. We have one minute statement from Pastor Morris and that may be due to legal counsel. You think because you’ve heard her side that you have all the answers you need to judge this righteously, but until the whole story comes out, we are to reserve judgement. I’m not saying part of what’s being said isn’t true… but something seems to be off in this whole scenario. I have a feeling Cindy hasn’t been 100 % honest in everything concerning this situation, though I might be wrong. If I am, I will openly own it. God brings all truth to light eventually, so if some things are not being reported correctly, the truth will eventually come out. I will reserve a just and fair judgement for whenever all the details are revealed. 12 year olds can still sin, they can lie and they can manipulate… even if Robert did even a part of what she said, or all of it, it doesn’t necessarily mean she’s fully innocent. We’ve seen kids younger than her be tried as adults for murder… Sexual awakening can taken at a young age… ask me how I know… far younger than 12. I was woken up and molested at 3. I remember every single moment of it except the man’s face because it was dark… but that situation awakened my young body to the desire of the flesh and it would have been easy as a young preteen to search out and or manipulate others to satisfy those fleshly desires and I definitely would have known it was wrong… how do I know? Because I contemplated sexual desires much of my preteens and before and if it weren’t for a hell and brimstone introduction to God around six, I would have done what I could to fulfill those desires in my early pre-teens, but I was afraid it would send me to hell, so I kept it in check until right around my 17 birthday when a guy a couple years my senior took an interest in me. But I fought the desires of sexual pleasure for most of my youth after being molested and by today’s standards, mine also would have been rape by instrumentation. I’m not blaming Cindy, I’m saying, if we are going to judge righteously as God judges, we must have all of the facts.

This should be a lesson to the world. The conduct of the pastor has caused a domino effect of pain on many not just the victim.
When one gives their life to the Lord there will still be temptation. We are supposed to rebuke our own flesh, resist the devil and he will flee.
If you give in just once satan has you where he wants you.
You then in return have allowed yourself to become an agent of the devil to hurt others, in which in many cases those who were hurt are never able to heal.

Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men[a] 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. Some people are attempting to explain away this man’s actions, it happened a long time ago, where were the parents, they are only after money, this man has lived in sexual purity since therefore it is OK. Because it was Cindy’s dad that chose not to turn Robert over to the authorities, but allow the church to “judge” the matter (1 Corinthians 6:1-2), and because in October of 89 after being back in ministry for seven months, Cindy (3 months shy of turning 20) and her dad, forgave pastor Robert, as far as the church and Robert is concerned the matter was addressed and closed. So if after this, when Robert felt the matter was closed, and claims to have “walked in purity and accountability” for the last 35 years, if (IF!) he has in fact done so, and no credible evidence is brought to the contrary, theirs nothing in the PRESENT to condemn this man and disqualify him from ministry.

This is a legal matter. Not a church matter. The church does not have the right to say if a person who committed murder will not get reported to the authorities. If a man committed a murder 35 years ago and he is recently found out repentance or not if he is discovered as a murderer he will be arrested no matter how long ago. He lied. He twisted the truth only told half truths to cover up what he did. He is a liver and a pediphile. That is not repentance. Child sexual abuse is termed soul murder, this is not about Robert Morris this was a crime against a. Child. Murderers don’t get off the hook regardless of how much they have repented.
