@@AriRHen if you don't know how to do purl, just go to the video where he shows how to do purl stitch. I don't do speed knitting either but I get used to moving the yarn back and forth over the needle to alternate stitches as in when doing something like seed stitch or rib stitch. It can cause muscle strain but I just take breaks when I get that feeling! Purl is simply bringing the yarn to the front of the right needle, then putting the right needle DOWN the stitch instead of up like when you do the knit stitch, then wrapping the yarn in much the same way as you do with knit stitch and instinctively pulling that new loop through. Hope this helps.

You’re soo talented and calm! I really appreciate you! You also seem very patient. ☺️ I pride myself on learning how to knit 🧶 for the very first time, using your beginner video. Although I was really extra and you told us how many knots to make well first of all, I couldn’t decide between which yarn so I ended up using two at one time on top of that I ended up making like 40 kn on one stick and you know that was way too much LOL I had a lot of challenges with that but it turned out very pretty but the only problem is that when I put it down I might pick it up the next day and the the needles have moved and then some of the thread/yarn comes off and now I have a bunch of messed up spaces. Maybe if I show you a photo of what I have done, maybe you can tell me how to salvage it, give me some pointers or tell me just to throw the whole thing away 😆

    Hi Rj,
Great videos, thanks for the detail in this video. I ran away from knitting years ago when all I could make was a large blob of the row after row of knitting with tonnes of holes in it. After spending a few years in crochet, I thought I'd come back and try knitting. Your videos are really helpful.
I did have one question about when you combine the knit and purl stitch to create the ribbed fabric. After doing a knit stitch, when you are switching to the purl (when it's on the same row), are you just moving the yarn from the back to the front, moving between the needles? I can sort of see what you're doing in the video, but since you're speed knitting and your hands are fairly close together, it's hard to see for sure. From what I can tell you're wrapping the needle with the yarn before you go in for the purl stitch.
And in doing this, will it create an extra loop on the needle or no?

I think seed stitch is my favourite stitch so far that I've learned to do.. It's got a really nice thick chunky texture, it's sort of like double sided, coz the yarn is brought to the front and the back constantly.. Dropping a stitch can be confusing though I expect! 😅
