F-35 Sensor Fusion

Fusion is a core attribute of the F-35, designed into the mission systems from design conception. The F-35 Sensor Fusion development leveraged experience from past fusion projects across the corporation; however, there were some fundamental architecture decisions and algorithmic challenges that were unique to the F-35 concept of operation. This presentation discusses some of the key F-35 design decisions and features that shaped the final F-35 Sensor Fusion solution.

Thank you for this glimpse into the world of data fusion. If anyone involved in this project knows, may I ask what possibility there will be for future integration of publicly held data. A use case being flight knowledge or third party reporting of assets in an area that the off platform controller could then fuse with the sensor data and hand back to the pilot. Perhaps you always include that but I presume such things could be updated in real time. Say taking data from civilian sites and passing it along to resolve unknown contacts?
