Oh my goodness....must be the nicest piece of wood I've ever seen. ❤
I just love Tims little whoops of joy.
That wood was really nice. The simple shape of the bowl was perfect for showing off the grain.
Yeah, with a grain like that, you really don’t need any fancy beads or coves, or any other embellishment like carving. The wood just stands on its own.
Beautiful workmanship and finish
Wow, that is a nice piece of wood! I know you said it’s cocobolo, but it looks a lot like bocote with the tight light/dark striping. And the finish looks great too! Keep turning Tim!
That is most definitely bocote
Well, I'm not the safety police, but if it were cocobolo, I was going to ask about lung safety. I've turned a fair bit of Wenge with minimal protection and no concerns. But I might just be blissfully ignorant.
What are your thoughts?
@@jayscott306 I don't do anything in my shop that generates dust or chips of any kind without a respirator. But that's just me.
One word: Outstanding! 👍👍 Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
Stunning… and so sweet to see your enjoyment & enthusiasm even after all your years of turning. Thank you for another video! ❤
Keep being you Tim! Great show!
Love me some cocobolo. Probably my favorite wood to turn as well. Awesome!

Beautiful wood! Don't skew it up! 😄
Nice job Tim Very Beautiful bowl!👍 That sure is some cool looking wood love that color and grain 😎
Hey Tim , priceless piece there mate! You’d be looking for another bit of that cocobolo.
That looks stunning, amazing wood and a nice finish, do you manage to sell your bowls, i like making them but can’t seem to sell them
Curious why you did not clean off the bottom with the gouge?
👍👍
Tim! Is this one for sale?! Thanks!
That is a spectacular piece of wood and finished bowl. One thing that bothers me about turning such a beautiful blank is wasting all that stuff in the middle. Have you ever used the tools that allow you to make that waste wood into another bowl? What are your thoughts/recommendations?
I’m a man of 7 hats. I can give you 7 valid points of view that are all different. One or 2 would agree with you to make another bowl. As a seller of bowls I would say it’s a waste of time$/hr is more if you started a new piece. From a sawmill perspective (I am also a sawyer) I would say that if it were of a specific species or size you would not want to waste it. Hope that gives you some points of view. It all depends who you are and what the plans for the bowl are. But at the end of the day remember there’s 1000 ways to get something done and it’s mainly all about having fun.
When are you going to make the gnome mushroom house ?
I would like to get started on wood turning, and was looking for a midi lathe at a reasonable price.. Im 73 years old and looking for a hobby.. Would like a lathe with at least a one horsepower and a 12 inch swing. What are your thoughts??
Tim, that's not Cocobolo, that looks like Bocote also a great turning wood,
Price for the lead machina diferent model
So we are doing wood taste tests now also? What is your favorite flavor?😂
It’s bocote!
9:10 It's a CocoBowl-o! #dadjoke
I'm a little you didn't take the cocobowlo dad-pun
I guess you don't sell shop vacs.
Robost lead machina different model
Looks more like Bacote
That turned out absolutely gorgeous! Now, as an asthma sufferer, why are you not wearing a mask? I feel for your poor lungs being filled with all that sawdust! Asthma sucks!
Man you're just looking to get COPD years down the road not wearing a mask.
When I use Cocobolo I use a good mask because the wood is toxic. I can't believe you don't wear a mask of some sort to protect your lungs from the dust no matter what kind of wood you are using. My Cocobolo is more reddish than yours. Nice work.
