I just installed new high end speakers and sub woofer on my pc and this was the first video I watched with them. OMFG Taylor! The new header and exhaust sound is incredible. Wow. Home-Freakin’-Run!
Muffler is off the hanger, surprised no one has commented it yet Sounds better than I was imagining, I approve. I was also one of the ones yelling at you about switching to an equal length header LOL
I'm not gonna go running to the store to throw mud flaps on my bug eye, but it looks damn good on your car. At times on film the color match was very close, and the people behind you will thank you for not spraying them with rocks.
Equal length is the way to go...My mishimoto TMIC works excellent...Temps drastically down and no noticeable pressure loss...So many people bash the brand but I've had no issues..But I know the feeling of having to mess up a brand new part for fitment..My brand new exhaust was too close to the cross member so I had to torch it and put a dimple in it...Put a Fumoto drain valve in...makes life easier, but you have a lift so...lol..
I like your subaru because unlike alot of other youtubers with Subarus you are actually putting the supporting components on it, I see people making 750hp with the stock rad then they wonder why they blew a head gasket or something, I have an 02 wrx and my first mod was the mishimoto radiator to keep my engine nice and happy, next thing imma do is the oil cooler so shes just chillin, I'm stock horsepower but I know that wont be the case for very long so I'd rather buy all the supporting mods first so my built motor is happy from day 1
Speaking from experience, that o2 sensor lead is going to melt. Get it covered with some heat protective wrap. Also, you're headers should be wrapped if they arent ceramic coated man, you are giving up ~500rpm of spool (and drastically heating your engine bay) without it. Those headers glow under load. Looking good!
Gotta love killer Bee! I have their custom front mount turbo kit on my bugeye which has a Holy header and puts the turbo near the foglights in front. Highly recommend going front mount turbo, easier turbo change outs, crazy fast spool, and keeps heat down low.
Good old rally armor flaps. The original owner of the company had a blue wrx swapped GC back in the day. Used to get his car worked on at the shop I worked at 🤙🏾

I would most definitely heat wrap the part of the header thats tight to the rad and put some gold Di heat tape on the rad itself to try to prevent it from heating up the radiator
So glad you got with Killer B as they make top notch products! Think I messaged you a 100 times about getting a pickup and baffle when you first got the car at a minimum! If you are serious in tracking the next company you should look at or turn too is TurnIn Concepts! They are big in Time trial and roadracing!
As a fellow long driveway owner, the faster you go down the driveway the worse it’ll get. Spinning tires in it is basically guaranteeing you’ll have a pothole there later. It drives me nuts watching it.
I've had a 2.5RS with a JDM WRX 2.0 engine swap with a JDM Type RA tranny. I dusted a regular 15' STI like nothing. The only thing bad about cars of this era is the chassis really need serious welding, beefing up rigidity. They really flex way too much on heavy cornering even with strut brace bars front and back. I'm sure the JDM bodies are much stiffer but the USDM ones were just too soft.
Sounds so much better! I think I can see how it just takes off quicker when you get on it! Was going to say you might want a longer resonator on there, but it’s probably just extra fuel sputter from being so rich. Looking forward to hearing this exhaust after a new tune!!!
I had a Subaru turbo here in the uk, my advice would be to get it sorted at this level, and leave it that way, I had friends back in the day who had 5/600 bhp, and my 320 was never far behind them, in many ways the 300 to 350 bracket is perfect for the chassis, 5-600 and they become unusable......

I've always wanted to do a legacy with an sti engine swap. Like a '98 legacy. Maybe someday. Good thing you remembered that the expansion tank was blown up. That would have sucked down the road. Nice work! Car looks great. Got some tips for ya. Upgrade to allow arms, get some good bushes to go with. Get a K-brace. That'll make it real go-kart like, almost twitchy in the steering sorta thing, I was also running the "rex on rails" wheel alignment specs which I highly recommend you read over and consider. As for the engine stuff, 300-350 kw atw is the sweet spot for these cars, you can get a bolt on setup that will do it but these seem to be very hit or miss in regards to turbo quality, or the EFR borgwarner turbos are probably the best I have personally seen. Stay away from the cheap ebay stuff, low down spool is what makes these cars fierce. p.s get a new windscreen already haha

11:14 THIS is the most important thing to do when applying RTV.
No shop does that. Just torque to spec and it will be fine.

Khafen To me it’s less about them being for “mud” and more for keeping the car cleaner between washes. It makes a good difference

Pull the engine to do the pan lol, flip it upside down and no oil dripping down issues. EJ’s are stupid easy to pull

You might be able to reset the motor mounts a bit.
Or put a jack between the cross member and the radiator support and push it forward a bit.

Mica red that's called in Europe. Had 2 in that colour (best colour). Very rare over here now. Paint code 94h. Got a touch up pen if you want it 👍

In the future, if you take off the pitch stop mount the engine goes up way more and easier.
I loosened the bolt, it wasn't enough, should have loosened the other but laziness prevailed. lol
