Neil Simon: Brother Danny as an inspiration

  • Playwright Neil Simon was born on July 4, 1927 and lived most of his life in New York. According to Wikipedia, he has received more Oscar and Tony nominations than any other writer. Neil Simon began writing comedy scripts for radio and early television, including Sid Caesar's Your Show of Shows. His plays include Come Blow Your Horn, Barefoot in the Park, The Odd Couple, Plaza Suite, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Biloxi Blues, Broadway Bound, The Goodbye Girl, The Sunshine Boys, Jake's Women, and Lost in Yonkers. Neil Simon was interviewed by Mike Wood on January 30, 1997 at his home in Beverly Hills, California.
