Rain sirens for Moon make sense, she was an early model, many ancients, especially workers, lived on the surface and sirens were needed to warn them of the rain so they could go in their designated shelters
I think it also shows a bit of her care for other creatures that this siren is still running. She probably could've cut it off to preserve a little bit of energy but she thinks it's still needed to continue warning the creatures below.
Was there that much rain in the time of the ancients? I thought the iterators caused the rain due to the excessive amount of water they vaporize, and the iterators were during the end of the ancients
Just an FYI, it was added to pebbles too, at least for certain characters (probably early timelines, when he was more functional).
I don't think intense rains were fatal by default in rain world Im pretty sure its because Five Pebbles processes so much water that he creates super storms
The last one is just perfect game design. Every time you wanted to beat the game fast you went there, and now when you want to see how fp is doing, its all gone. You just lose all familiarity standing there as the music kicks in.
yes!! gave me chills, I was just like "well, since im already on the way, might check FP" then... nothing was there
i had the rain sirens play when i was going from moon to pebbles via the precipice and oh my it does its job of making you TERRIFIED before the entire structure starts shaking
not to mention the fact that the rot basically.. breaks pebbles open? if that makes sense? it rots open his insides, i think.
The underside of his can starts getting eaten away, and the insides of the can slowly spill - and think about this: if riv hadn't taken the cell for pebbs, the rot would have spread down the legs of the can and eaten away at not only the rest of the superstructure, but would start to infect the land below as well.
seeing his state in saint, you realise what you have done, what he has done. Silent Construct is far more destroyed than Submerged Superstructure, and traces of those blue crosses still remain even an eon or so into the future
@@jessiesowter couldnt the saint just like ''pew pew'' and the rot is gone?
@@RAMOBUS short answer is no
the scariest thing is when ur at the top of a screen and any type of vulture swoops down
If it's a normal vulture, then it's free food
I never actually processed they were sirens i just thought it was some sick random ambience
For me it wasn't the rot itself, but seeing the fallen underhang orbs.
Playing rivulet and going through memory crypts and waiting for some birds noticed there wasn't so i kept going only seeing yellow gang got more sus then the fallen orb
I remember trying to go to FP via the wall (I didn’t know about the changed region) and when I got to that edge to see the pathway to where the karma gate should be it gave me chills.
It was just…… gone.
i just realized that the rain sirens might not be rain sirens, it might be an "this iterator is going to fucking die" alarm because 5 pebbles is sucking up all of the water and making moon's systems fail. The cycle indicator i think is usually synced up to 5p's rain output for all the other slugcats and for spearmaster when they're closer to 5p? which makes this even more terrifying to think about.
unless moon and 5p have always been synced in which case it could be either lol
edit: yo if you listen real hard it almost sounds like there's screaming in the background
it sounds like the superstructure itself is screaming
it's stated in one of the pearls in Hunter's campaign that at the time that NSH started raising his messenger (Hunter), something it's implied that he started doing during/right after Spearmaster's campaign that he was noting barely any rain coming from LttM's can (compared to 5P's "shall we say healthy output". as a result even if the rain (perhaps on the shorter cycles) might sometimes, rarely, be from LttM I'd say that the vast majority of it during Spearmaster's and Artificer's campaigns is from 5P (and obviously for all later campaigns all rain is from 5P, with it stopping completely once 5P has fallen by the time of Saint's campaign)
I'd expect that like stormyspider says, it might not be sirens, those sounds are LttM's structure screeching under the strain of remaining standing. it just doesn't sound regular enough to me for it to sound like a siren
An interesting theory, but in the file s it's called MOON_SIREN, that may debunk it, but file names are not everything
rain sirens were actually made to alert ancients of the rain since moon is an early iterator model and ancients prob still lived on the surface
Moon Siren also can be faintly heard in Submerged SuperStructure when the cycle is over, just very drowned out
You can hear the rain sirens in the underhang i think
i heard it playing as artificer and i just thought "wow i didnt know there was music when it rained"
Spoilers
In speaemaster campaign. Moons super structure is generally in underhang
i was kinda expectin things like slugcats being cannibals (gourmand, hunter, arti can eat slugpups when you play with them in the surviver/monk campaign) or rivulents brutal way of dragging creatures like eggbugs underwater and drowning them
RIVULET CAN DO THAT????
@@lycaonpictus372I mean, rivulet can do that to anything that doesn't hold its breath as long as they can and rivulet can hold. Eel lizards (maybe salamanders and jetfish) might be the only thing that hold their breath for as long as rivulet while still needing to breath air.
In the end, it's up to the player to use that to their advantage. Theirs no lore reason of rivulet being capable of doing this, it's just a side effect. Especially since riv can't eat large animals.
I think the last one was made a bit less effective by the scroll mod.
another fun fact about moon's rain siren: you can still hear it, way down at the bottom of Submerged Superstructure as Rivulet.
I always found the rain siren really cool-sounding.
Hunter's turbo cancer is scary AS hunter but in gourmand's journey seeing the after math is infinitely scarier imo.
Maybe the sirens are in moon's superstructure only is because moon was built during a time when most of the ancients still lived on the ground. But by the time Pebbles was constructed, they all lived on top of the structures so there was no need for the sirens
That actually makes sense
That actually sounds cool tbh
There is a definitely two cultures at play between Moon and Pebbles. Moons Ancients were tradition bound and less advanced, much older-they definitely had people on the ground who constructed things and worked there, relying on machines and less refined cyborg type purposed organisms (Miros creatures and Spiders). Pebbles Ancients meanwhile completely dwelled in the top of the can and would rarely ever descend because it was too dangerous, and they specifically designed an ecosystem they didn't have to modify themselves. Most of their creations were more advanced, to the point where there was no difference between living and non-living material-even their buildings were purposed organisms, grown into shapes that pleased them.
what i find terrifying is that red lizards can survive more damage than daddy long legs
ddls have 200 health but have explosive vulnerability
if you tried to kill one with spears itd take your entire cycle
That last one got me 😢
I didn't get it
@@maurice2150 It's the Chimney Canopy -> Wall connection, the previous campaign have conditioned you to go "Oh, I'm not entirely sure what to do, time to go visit my old friend, Pebbles!" but if you try going there as Saint, both the bridge leading to him is just... gone. Definitely one of the most powerful moments of the Saint campaign.

Oh... Shoot. Saint rlly flips things on the head. I haven't done it yet so I didn't quite understand.
There’s something else pretty shook’th-ing about rain world: ???
If you didn’t know, inv can have slugpups spawn, however they are all the same void black color with cursed faces.
It actually got me thinking… is inv disabled?
There’s a condition where you can’t recognize the faces of certain people, and enot…
It’s just a theory, sure, but it’s just so oddly scary knowing that it is a possibility that each slugcat has something unique about them, physically and negatively.
I guess that’s what makes rain world rain world: everything is possible, it’s just up to the user.
this is actually a pretty cool theory and would explain why enot sees the world so weirdly.
one problem. when they die they explode into a singularity bomb.
@@mustached_villain6354 they eated the *E G G*
@@mustached_villain6354also the possibility that he’s just as high as rivulet, and dies from like, a concussion when they see their loved ones die. But that’s just a theory… a game theory!!!1!!!1!!11!! Anddddd cut!!,!
@@Whydoiexisthere- they mean the slugpups explode when they die, not Inv
Hi there! The disorder you’re thinking of is prosopagnosia. I suffer from it, it doesn’t warp faces. It’s also known as face blindness, but it doesn’t make you unable to see faces. I see the eyes mouth and nose, but there’s a disconnect within my brain that doesn’t allow me to see it as one face. It wouldn’t make them see them as warped beings.
Radical!
What's so creepy about Solitary Towers (Chimney Canopy's name change as Saint)?
in the usual chimney canopy (other campains) you can see five pebble's structure, but in saint's campaign its not there, assuming that five pebbles is gone, unable to ascend and stuck in a desert of snow and metallic debris, for all eternity
I didn’t even know FP and moon had sirens for when the rain starts, that’s awsome
I swear Ive never felt so lost in a videogame than that chimney canopy saint moment...
The first time i got from memory conflux to unfortunate development i got a sort of mini jumpscare when seing everything dark plus the rot
Its even scarier that the rain sirens play in submerged superstructure because they probably work by decting water
Kinda unrelated to this but has anyone ever me the Married Couple of King Vultures in Shoreline while playing Hunter?
Like Istg there are 2 King Vultures that spawn in multiple rooms together
PART TWO PLEASE SEE!
The most scariest thing in rain world Downpour is inv/enot campaign.
Micro bird + vulture = vultcro
The dating sim scarier
that was good article ending( would u prefer to be echo or at least be able to do smth
Is the screen following a mod?
ITS THE ORIGINAL ENDING FOR ARTIFICER AND NOT THE BAD ENDING THE BAD ENDING IS WHEN ARTIFICER TRYS TO ACCEND
clownpour
I don't get the last one
Saint spoilers
You would be able to get to pebbles' wall when playing every other slugcat but saint. The only reason why the music plays and there isn't anymore pathing to pebbles' wall is because pebbles' superstructure is extremely deteriorated in saint's timeline.
"If you know, you know." Is what it means
