    I have been following Kent's video tutorials for some years and have found them super inspiring. I learnt to play his versions of Summer Time and The Way You Look Tonight. Kent is a guy that a lot of pianists, young and old, hobby or pro, will profit from. Greetings from Vienna, Austria

    Smokin' (Looks like a nice Steinway grand in the background looking at the double wooden pedal lyre back stays) 2 tunes I learned years ago with not very good chords. Geeze, I've got so much homework to do with all your great videos. I'm getting very good at the stack chords spread voicing type stuff but I really struggle with any improv. Anyway, I'm learning loads from your videos right now so that's all good. (That little French grand piano I bought really sounds amazing - It has the tri-chord wound strings on the upper 6 bass notes and individual stringing too - both of which most pianos don't have). PS: the fingering of this stuff. My classical lessons from 35 years ago are good for this. Jumping a finger or 2 after playing 3 - 4 notes is really not so difficult. Better than running out of fingers! hehe. But seriously.... the basic classical fingering tips - thumb under going up, 3rd or 4th finger over going down and jumping a finger or two where needed really help.

      @KentHewittpiano88  Před 2 lety +1

      I have a video on playing the major scales which is a trick I learned later on...ie: finding the patterns of 3 and 4 fingers. I also like to practice my scales in 3 and 4 octaves in triplets and patterns of 4. I'm glad you're learning from my videos and telling me...keep it up, Robin!

    • @gaugeonesteam
      @gaugeonesteam Před 2 lety

      @@KentHewittpiano88 I meant the other way around. The fingering is something I'm really good at. It's the free style improv I struggle with but hey! All good. I'm learning more piano now than i ever did in my teens. We just didn't have the books or knowledge or the teachers here in the UK at that time. I did try to learn this stuff 40 years ago but there was no source of knowledge available then.

    • @KentHewittpiano88
      @KentHewittpiano88  Před 2 lety +1

      Chordie software is for the shadow piano and manuscript. Band in a Box is for the backing track. OBS studio is for the multi-screen aspect. Then you need a newer digital keyboard with USB connection to laptop. I have to use 2 cameras and a laptop computer and sync everything up. I don't know how those geniuses do it. You will have to watch a lot of tutorials to learn how to do this. There's a lot of frustration even after learning it, so it's not for the light- hearted.
