    I think the girl getting sent to the void was basically given two unspoken choices. Either be reincarnated or go to where the man she loved was. She chose the latter, even if it meant being wrongly sent to the void where his soul was sent due to his decisions in life. The arbiter couldn't understand why anyone would willingly do that, hence his confusion.

    • @marmyeater
      @marmyeater Před 3 lety +8

      It's more likely that since she's a mirror to Chizuki that she chose to sacrifice someone else, and that meant she failed and was sent to the void where her soul fused with Harada's soul.

    • @Kayta-Linda
      @Kayta-Linda Před 2 lety +1

      I’d say that whether she chose the guy or herself... she would’ve been sent to the Void regardless. So... we can only speculate which she actually chose.

    ah.. this was definitely one of the most underrated shows out there..
    the ending with the newly added rule of "Arbiters cannot work hand in hand with life"
    makes it so that Decim will be the only Arbiter with human emotion
    Flower-dude saying to Nona that he too, is merely a puppet as well, meaning there's still *something* controlling his strings. and a certain regret mixed in with his weird playfulness to alleviate his boredom, alongside his adamant nature to stop Nona's attempt for the dolls(arbiters) to be human, making it seem that he too once tried to do the same thing but failed, so he added to 4th rule to protect his precious dolls from the pain that he couldve felt in the past.
    Chiyuki was given the same test as Mayu did (her stan's life or Light's life) and she chose to be with her stan (meaning, she opted to sacrifice Light, so she got judged as unworthy for reincarnation and sent to the void) meanwhile Chiyuki chose to not be reincarnated, as she thinks that it is unfair for everyone that she had judged, since those people had someone wanting them to return, shocking Decim, as usually its about the sympathy towards those who died and wanting to return, but Chiyuki sympathized with those who were living and bearing the pain of a lost loved one (like her mother did).
    So Chiyuki basically passed that test with a score of 11/10 changing Decim's mindset of making people think that they were satisfied with their life rather than pulling out their darkest thoughts
    theres just something about it that just *hits different*
    one of my fav anime of all time definitely

    Would have been interesting seeing light and L show up at the bar playing a game and slowly recovering their memories. They would have been a headache for the arbiters, prob figured out they were already dead and being judged within minutes

  • @egolayer13
    @egolayer13 Před 3 lety +12

    Ginti had a hard choice to make. Keep Mayu in the void and complicate his own life... or send her off to the place where Harada has already been judged. She can never really save him. But he could send her there. This episode is a moral conundrum and a total heartbreak. RIP Mayu-chan.

    that scene when Decim took Chiyuki to "the reality" was my turning point. that time i've been on my suicidal thoughts and that's exactly like what Chiyuki felt (the emptiness, numb, feeling being misunderstood because they weren't me) and then i saw her mom praying and crying blamed herself because she couldn't understand her daughter better and that was really hit in me so much because i could see my mom say that too, my heart aches for her. it's sucks for us because we can't describe our feelings really well to our closest, and most of the time we didn't blamed them but we blamed ourselves like it's never been their faults either. so that's the reason this 2 eps really hits different to me 🥲
    ps: im sorry if my english sucks, english is my second language 😊

    Late to this since I finally watched Death Parade last week. What a beautiful ride.
    This is without a doubt Light Yagami. He is referenced several times prior when they discuss the abnormal rise in deaths and influx of souls coming to be judged. The one character mentions the cause being “someone’s own ideal sense of justice.” Light for sure was the reason for this, specifically after he removed the “competition” and was able to kill freely until Near came around. Because he killed so many with a supernatural item, I don’t think he is able to be judged which is why he becomes a shinigami.

    I always interpreted the girly getting sent to the void was because she chose to swap someone else's soul for Harada's

    • @Reanimatedyt
      @Reanimatedyt  Před 3 lety +8

      So from what I understand, it actually was impossible to swap souls, he just told her that because he was genuinely curious what she would choose, similar to what Decim did with Chiyuki. But she chose to simply go to the void with her idol because she wanted to be with him that much that she was willing to not get reincarnated, and her arbiter couldn’t understand why someone would do something like that. So in his own way he respected her for it and understood human emotion a little bit more from it.

    Yay! You finished Death Parade! Booo! I have nothing else to watch over here for a while!
    Ginti's way of judgement was so despicable that his cat refused to come back to the bar! Unlike Decim, Ginti wasn't concerned with passing a correct judgment, because he didn't cherish humans. Ginti seemed to believe that his job was to draw out the darkness in order to send people to void.
    However, when his rigged game brought out the light (good) in Harada & Mayu, it was confusing to him. Since the final judgment was based on what the players did during the game, Ginti could've easily sent Mayu & Harada to be reincarnated the first time. It was unnecessary for him entrap Mayu with that choice against Light. That doll he made of her was cute, but he's still a jerk.
    Chiyuki's judgment was a 3 episode journey. Decim started with a gentle card game with granny, then allowed her to remember the events of her life while doing what she loved (ice skating), & then the heartbreaking re-creation of her mother grieving at home as a final test. At least Chiyuki got reincarnated & Decim is a better arbiter from the experience.
    Shout out to Taylor for his thoughtful & appropriate message at the end 👏.

    • @Reanimatedyt
      @Reanimatedyt  Před 3 lety

      So I thought Decim did the last simulation not as a test but in order to understand human emotions and thinking better? Because at the very end remember Chiyuki was telling him to push the button because she succumbed to her want to see her mom again. And in doing so he was able to actually feel pain in a nonexistent heart and cry, thus becoming that much more human.

    • @jadestewart9747
      @jadestewart9747 Před 3 lety +3

      @@Reanimatedyt It was part of Chiyuki's Judgement, but he may have chosen that method in order to understand human emotions & thinking. I haven't seen this show in a few years, but I do remember Chiyuki's Judgement being a gradual process & Decim wanting to understand human emotions during his time with Chiyuki while figuring out a way to judge her at the same time.
