And 3&4 are both so good, they both have their own unique stuff and sometimes i just can’t decide which i want play.

Why decide? Get all 3 , thats what I did. JC4 is a dumpster fire though. If you want to have fun tooling around in it then get the DLC with the hoverboard. That ONE feature makes the game tolerable. JC3 is more fun.
2 and 3 are both equally phenomenal games. Since 2 is older though many people consider 3 it's replacement, in the sense there's no reason to play it when 3 exists. I personally disagree though, panau and it's story is it's own beast, so even if you prefer 3 I feel there's still a reason to revisit 2

Just Cause 2 is a 4.8GB install, compared to 60GB for the sequels. Think about that. And can be played well on virtually any modern system. I remember maxing it out 10 years ago w/ 60fps with a laptop. Crazy.
ye cause jc2 is reusing the same textures all over again which is 8 by 8, it has no new textures just like FUEL(game) while sequels have different textures and better map than jc2 feels kinda empty , and not to mention they don't use 8x8 textures

Just cause 2 graphics were great, but the whole colour tone was a bit depressing from time to time. Just cause 3 was really saturated and colourful and it gave a really good tropical vibe. Just cause 4 is kinda mix of the two.

Amartya Panja JC4 is actually one of the biggest let downs of avalanche studios. It not only the water that’s bad, there’s also bad textures, car physics, nature physics, and animation.

Hey just cause 4 does not have coral reefs...what a pity
Just Cause 3 actually has a less advanced engine than 4 but it manages to look better because all the lighting and effects have been tailored to showcase a specific visuals. This is actually quite unfair to Just Cause 4 because it didn't only suffered from a somewhat rushed development but also because a lot of it's lighting and physics systems were reworked to work along with the extreme dynamic weather system that simply require to ditch certain pre-baked (but otherwise great looking) solutions from 3 like explosions.
If you watch closely you can clearly see that 3 makes extensive use of sprite based flame, smoke and debris effects on explosions (if you pay attention you can even see how low resolution the smoke sprites are) while 4 while also mantains some of the sprite nature of certain effects it also renders some realtime particles for flames smoke and debris, it may not look as good but are actually fairly more complex.
The end result is inferior to both JC2 and 3. No excuses for a game that goes backwards in every single aspect expect some shitty gimmicks like the tethers and tornadoes. JC3 also regressed compared to 2 in the missions, characters and worldbuilding but at least the graphics and gameplay improvements were massive. 4 was so bad I don't even care for the franchise anymore lol, straight up indie game quality in that one.
Just started playing Just Cause 3 again after playing just a few hours of Just Cause 4 because I love 3 so much more haha

Just Cause 3 is awesome. If you haven't played it already, I would. Just Cause 4 is decent but can't compete with 2 and 3.

@@tennisthelegend just cause 4 introduced mechanics that makes the player abandon the old ones while still keeping the old one. even jc3 did the wingsuit thing that made the parachute useless. other than that jc3 is good jc4 is graphically better but jc2 has the best locomotion imo

Not really bro. I have all of them and I think JC4 is better than JC3. You have a bigger map to explore, new stuff to do and they fixed the lag problem ( JC3 was not well optimized when you entered rocket fights )
Vicentiu Canada dude, I’m not going to try and change your opinion. But JC4 had some of the worst writing in all of the storyline, had no town or base liberation, had terrible map design (don’t get me wrong, the map is huge.) Just cause 4, in my opinion, had no hype and was bound to fail.

Blazing Blade no, my friend. YOU don’t but just cause for it’s story. It can be fairly engaging once written well, and don’t get me wrong. Avalanche and Square Enix does not have some of the best writers. But I’m judging mostly off of the games lousy map design, with cities looking like they were produced in a Garrys mod server from 2010, and useless machines or map characteristics that were just placed there for fun (what military unit requires a happy face balloon producing factory?) they seemed to lean less towards the, good map design that makes sense. And more towards the, throw some dumb shit in there because it will make us more money. Not saying the game was a cash grab, but it failed to live up to the standards of previous just cause titles. I’d rather play just cause 1 made in 2005 than this nonsensical electric boogaloo of a wasted just cause title.

I started playing JC4 cause it was free. At first all the jaggy lines made me think the graphics were trash. However, when I ran the game at 1440p instead of 1080p most of the aliasing was gone and the game actually looked pretty good, except the water of course lol

JC2 is better than 3 i think. Winsgsuite gives a lot of fun, but map is a big downgrade, it is so boring, no big airplanes flying or anything. JC4 brings me back feeling of 2, it is just great sandbox to chill

JC2 was way ahead of its time, when you looked in the distance it was so cool you could see the towns, mountain peaks and they look great even today, the game being released in 2010... Rico wasn't horribly boring, I just hate the turn they took with the story's tone in jc 3, I actually liked that things were somewhat serious in jc2, in jc3 you just get a really bad comedy that you can't give a damn about because the characters barely care. Oh, and the map variety got demolished in jc3, everywhere you look, same textures, same particles, same lighting, bad aliasing and blur and it seems it's even worse in jc4 but at least the variety is improved there.

Jc3 might not have the most serious story of all times, but it was not meant to be like that. You just look at the colorful textures, and you understand that the purpose of the game was to entartain the players and make them feel full of energy. If the story was too emotional and the character was too serious, it wouldn't fit in with the setting of the game. About the same landscapes, textures and lights, I get your point but there are many different features in the islands. There's a lot to explore, and textures and lights are cool, so there's no need to change things too much. Btw we have all different opinions and I respect that, I just wanted to let you know I really had a lot fun (and still having now) with this game and I consider it a masterpiece in its genre.
I personally think JC3’s map looked a lot better, but yeah there was a whole lot less variety. I think I’d still rate the game higher, but really my philosophy is ‘why not both?’ for maximum enjoyment.

Im liked jc 2 map and atmosphere with soundtrack, just cause 3 was cool too but the map was so simple like the 2 regions had only villages with some bases but most big island were just some, SOME bases and roads, nothing special, in jc 4 im got back about jc 2 feelings ( old dlc ice cream truck and boom boom returned) also map loks like they wanted to do something in idea of jc 2, im will wait for (jc 5 if its will be i think) and the map would be as something in jc 2, im just want good map thats why.
If they make JC5 like a mix of the good parts of JC3 and JC4 then I think it will be a great game.

So, basically video games are getting shittier but looking better.
I mean it really isn't their fault the last gen systems were really weak. And they let out their monster when making JC3 and here we are. But in JC4 they pussied down a little and here we are with Just Cause 3 Lite Edition to make the framerate more bearable.
JC2 will always remain the best. Its visuals look fantastic even today. Its water makes the water in JC4 look like goat vomit. Lets not get into the "missions" in JC4 which are absolute vomit. Oh and they looked at everything that made JC2 & JC3 fun - and removed them. Oh and while they were doing that they also decided to use PS2-era scenery textures lmao. What a fail. If there is ever a JC5 I hope the same bean counters are not in charge. Great video thank you!!

Y people have so many issues with just cause 4... I enjoyed that game sooo much .. it has such and huge map to explore with so beautiful terrains and vegetations ... And it's graphics is so wonderful in maxed out settings except for those waters in tropical zone... It has such an amazing graphics at least for me .. the only thing I didn't liked is that game is small in terms of story missions there could be more I believe ..
It would’ve been better as a different game than a just cause game because they stripped all of the things that made just cause just cause not too mention a major lack in other things than the main story also the map felt dead and boring.
