Two more tips to add:
For a thickened gravy add sawala onions with masala and other mentioned ingredients at the beginning before cooking.
For flavour add a few cardamom (5-6) and a small cinnamon stick in the pressure cooker.

Thanks for the recipe. Shouldn't we need to add water for puttu powder? You din mention approx for how many minutes we need to cook a puttu.
No need to add water as we are soaking the rice. Once you see the steam, keep for 2-3 minutes

First time seeing with soaked raw rice 😮

Hi Lakshmi, you can keep the soaked rice in a sieve ( arippa) or colander to drain water.
