- I Finally Evolved The Max Level Army To Win
So because I am a genius, and partially because a helpful comment told me to, I figured out how to create the largest army in existence. All I have to do is drop the frame rate to whatever I want and then I'm one step closer to map domination. I'm glad I am such a genius and figured this out with my genius...ness.

It's one of the older methods for problem solving in game coding.
Issue is that this was fine when machine specs or FPS were naturaly capped by the developer team

He basically played the game how I play every game: Raise the difficulty to the highest level from the very beginning, then go down to the normal difficulty after learning the mechanics at a master level.

I was going to say on your last vid that this game is hard. I have a pretty decent PC so I had high fps.
with 165fps i barely could even get started it was so difficult, id have 20 tier ones and the map would have golems and tier 3s it was aides

They tied the game ticks to the framerate.
I'm reminded of Need For Speed: Rivals, where they tied the game speed to the capped frame rate. So if you uncapped the fps, everything broke. Game went super speed, physics went wonky.
Lesson being, don't tie your game rate to the fps.
Old DOS games used to be tied to the computers clock speed. I took some games I used to play on an 8088 (5-10Hz) and got them to run on an AMD K6 (166-300MHz) machine. It made them totally unplayable.
Why would they even do that on modern games, when people run vastly different settings?

Hey @DF, you generally want to cap your fps to your monitors' refresh rate. Anything beyond that is just wasted computations, and you may actually find that some games run *_smoother_* at a lower refresh rate!
this isn't always true. if your computer can manage it, double the framerate is actually pretty beneficial in a lot of games, or even higher. your monitor will just pick the most recent frame to display when it refreshes, and your game will generally only actually register an input on a frame. so if you have a 60 hz monitor and run your game at 120 fps instead of 60 it will (depending on the game) feel twice as responsive.

It's just how games are made. Counting seconds is hard, so most games usually count the frames for things to happen. If I'm not wrong, there was a CoD where you could really notice the difference between low and high framerates in the shooting speed. Also, Nvidia slogan is "Framerates win matchs" (translated from spanish), why do you they say it?

It’s be really satisfying (as a viewer) to see you get a giant army of castor/necromancers and be able to one shot a big big boi. In your earlier videos where they spawn super fast, it’s always super satisfying when you have like 7 castors and every-time they cast, multiple enemies in the middle die. Imagine what 30 castors could do to the super middle

I blame the editor for constantly cutting and making it seem like you were talking way more time between fights.
This makes sense. It seemed like the game was on a timer. If you were too slow you'd end up with lvl 1 guys trying to avoid lvl4 mobs. Also, it seemed like aggro was tied to movement. Several times I would just position next to hostiles and while they fought other mobs would just walk by, check aggro and move on. If I twitched I got destroyed. It also seemed like there was some mechanic that would pull mobs, like if you were wounded other groups would move in. Also, mob caps. My army could only get so big before I couldn't grow.

That's kind of satisfying because I've played this game too for the past few days and I struggled a lot in the beginning. The last two games though were incredible. Unbeatable armies. Conquering the middle multiple times. And now after watching this I know I've been on veteran difficulty all the time

Funny to see games in this era still having issues where some mechanic or another breaks if your computer is too good.
I remember back in the 90s playing a 2D volleyball game, or rather trying to, but the game was made to run as fast as the computer could, and as the PC I was on was significantly better than the one the game had been designed for, the ball would completely cross the screen in maybe 1 or 2 frames, making it entirely unplayable lol.

Same issue with the Halo Masterchief Collectection. The way enemies target and shoot you is based on framerate, which makes legendary virtually impossible compared to the original games. Best way to do it is cap fps at 45 or 60 and then play.

Also it's funny how many people don't realize games often use the framerate because they assume it's capped or won't be able to run above it... Consider Skyrim, which when modded kills the intro sequence because the movement of the wagons is tied to fps and so when you add enb boost it uncaps the fps and causes your wagon to FLY
