    I finally know what I will be buying after watching several videos on piano reviews and that is the kawai ca79. I prefer kawai s sound over others and for my budget and space the ca79 will be a great purchase I could be happy with for several years of piano learning and fun playing, hopefully.

      I also use kawai ca79 and it pleases me. I tested both ca79 and ca99 before purchasing. I thought the ca99 had to be better, it's an higher model, the speaker system is better, the sound cabinet is better, but as I played it over and over on both pianos to prove to myself that the ca99 sounded better, I saw the ca79's sound is much more better and bought it and never regretted my choice.

    You don't need to play the Rec button twice. If you press once, it will start recording automatically as soon as you press a key.

    What would be the better choice between yamaha CLP-745 and kawai CA-79? How is the headphone sound on the CA-79?
    Thank you!

    Great showcase. Thank you! Can you share your thoughts about nv10 keyboard and new gf3? How much do they felt the same or there is a significant difference between them?

    • @RichardLawsonPianosLtd
      @RichardLawsonPianosLtd  Před 4 lety +2

      Yes, the Grand Feel III action is very responsive, and a definite improvement on the former Grand Feel II action, but because the Novus 10 action uses actual hammers, it feels even more authentically like an acoustic grand piano action. The keys have a bit more weight and resistance, which is vital for keyboard control, but are at the same time springier, meaning that things like repetition and faster passage work can be made to sound clearer. We have both in stock anyway, if you ever wanted to compare them!

      @@shaolin95 Sorry for any confusion, but the Kawai Novus 10 uses a horizontal grand piano action rather than a vertical upright one.

    Would you take the CA98 over the CA 79 at a similar price?

  • @yayyaycats
    @yayyaycats Před 2 lety +1

    How would you compare the CA99 action to the NV5/S? Is an upright action even if acoustic, better than a simulated grand action? (particularly for upper intermediate/advanced classical music).

    • @RichardLawsonPianosLtd
      @RichardLawsonPianosLtd  Před 2 lety +1

      This is a tricky one, but for the most part the NV5S arguably has the more responsive action as the hammers inside really do enable a higher degree of control, as well as help more in developing finger strength and technique.

    Nice video.
    How much do the keys weigh ? How many grams in the center ?

    • @RichardLawsonPianosLtd
      @RichardLawsonPianosLtd  Před 4 lety

      I've been reliably informed by Kawai that the weighting for both models is 50-55g on Middle C. And there can be a tolerance of +/-3g due to the wooden material of the key. Hope that helps!

    I like both in polished ebony, is the CA99 worth the extra cost over the CA79? There is quite a price difference.

    • @RichardLawsonPianosLtd
      @RichardLawsonPianosLtd  Před 4 lety +2

      The actions are identical, but due to the fact that the CA99 has more powerful speakers, as well as a real wooden soundboard, the sound is noticeably warmer and richer (and therefore capable of a wider expressive range) when compared to the CA79.

    • @germanshepherdlover2613
      @germanshepherdlover2613 Před 4 lety +1

      @@RichardLawsonPianosLtd I have played both and yes the 99 sounds warmer. The 79 appeals because of the smaller form factor and would still be pretty loud in my bedroom (my ES8 is pretty loud). I want to put my synthesizer on top of the piano and run it through the piano's speakers. The CA99 is about $1400 AUD dearer than the CA79.

    • @RichardLawsonPianosLtd
      @RichardLawsonPianosLtd  Před 4 lety +2

      The sound is not dissimilar between the two, but the action is noticeably more responsive, particularly when it comes to more delicate and finessed playing.The sensors of the CA79 do a much better job at picking up more subtle differences in key stroke velocities.
