I don't have All Cowboys...but I do have Empty Glass. I need to do more listening to Pete's solo stuff. I did go back and watch your Who ranking. Great video. If I ever listen to the Who I always pull out Sell Out. Enjoyed this vid. Glad I found your channel. Peace

I bought both Pete Townshend’s White City and David Gilmour’s About Face at release, both appeared on each other’s albums and both are terrific.

Thanks for another good ranking video! I always cherished Pete Townshend as one of the most intelligent, visionary and outspoken musician. His interviews in the late 60s in Rolling Stone, NME or MM rank among the finest alongside Keith Richard, David Crosby, Jerry Garcia, Paul Kärntner, Brian Eno and David Bowie. When his autobiography was published I got it straight away. But I was sore disappointed. No humour, alot of misery... Next to Brian Wilson's the worst autobiography in my opinion. No wonder most of the English journalists preferred to spend time with Keith Moon😂🎉

I really liked the autobiography. But true, he does wallow in misery sometimes.

I was at the gig at the Astrodome. I thought it was pretty good, especially since you got to see the Fabulous Thunderbirds outside before the inside shows kicked off. I also remember that and a very drunk Randy Quaid introduced the performers inside.

That was a fun day. Got to see Fabulous Thunderbirds and Stevie Ray Vaughan outside during the day, then SRV opened for The Who in the Dome that night. Also saw Omar & The Howlers on one of the small stages during the day, they were great too. I remember it being very hot during the day and they used fire hoses to cool the fans off in the parking lot.

Hello, as always a pleasure to watch your channel. I would almost agree... my two favorites are "All The Best Cowboys..." and "White City". "White City" would be my Number One. "Give Blood"... can't get enough of this song; i recomment the Version from "White City: The Music Movie" with that long intro. "Second Love", "White City Fighting", "Night School" etc.; no filler, what a killer album. "All The Best Cowboys" another great album, nearly good as "White City". "After The Fire", originally on "Under A Raging Moon" from 1985... what an epic song, one of the best from Roger Daltrey. Maybe a little bit controverse abot The Who... i really like the two Who albums "Face Dances" and "It's Hard"... both are underrated in my opinon. Greetings from germany... bye and take care.

    7) Psychoderelict - I have never liked this record. Didn't like "English Boy." I think I liked "Now And Then," maybe, but even that song isn't that great. I never have to listen to this again.
    6) Iron Man - I listened to this a lot when I was 16 or 17. There aren't a lot of great songs on here, but there are a lot more than Psychoderelict. I'd give it maybe 3 out of 5 stars.
    5) Rough Mix - I quite enjoy this. At the very least, I love about half of it. But it doesn't stand with the other albums. Maybe 3.5 out of 5.
    4) Who Came First - the expanded version of this is excellent. I absolutely love all of the Who/Lifehouse songs he performs on this. 4 out of 5.
    3) Empty Glass - This is ALMOST a perfect record. It just bogs down a little in the middle. "Keep On Working" and "Cats In The Cupboard" are just not as good as the others. But everything else is excellent. Depending on the day, this is either a 4.5 or 5 out of 5 for me.
    2) White City - The album is greater than the sum of the parts. "Give Blood," "Come To Mama," "I Am Secure," "The Brilliant Blues," "Face The Face"...this record is so good. This stands up with most all of the Who's best work. 5 out of 5.
    1) All The Best Cowboys Have Chinese Eyes - the album is just personal. Personal to Pete, personal to me. One of my all time favorite records as well. 5 out of 5.

@@amitytracks Thank you! I mean, what?, we have different views by the smallest of increments. It's amazing that Townshend's run from Empty Glass thru White City isn't spoken of more often. The man was on fire.
