What really stands out to me is the level of control displayed here. He obviously has the pipes to just blow the roof out, but the power really shines because he holds back when it's not needed. It allows him to really highlight those incredible moments. 11/10 sir! Hats off to you!

Can't understand why more people have not heard of the fabulous singer. Pitch perfect, great falsetto, hits those high notes. Needs to get out there and come to the States. Ireland is just not cutting it. Hidden gem. Bobby Hatfield would have been so proud hearing your rendition.

Absolutely, Stephen. I'm an accomplished amateur singer, myself, and I like to think that I have an 'ear' for vocal tone and pitch.
Your tone is a good match for Bobby Hatfield, IMHO, but then, his ancestors and yours(?) were largely from Western Europe(?) Mine were, like many Americans.
Think of ABBA. They're not family-related, but Agatha and Annie-Frid(spelling?) sound almost the same, while singing in the same key. Not kidding. I can hear this, easily.
Keep up the good work! I'm surprised(?) you haven't been approached by a manager to sign a contract to sing professionally? Have you? Not that's it's important, now.

Stephen Barry, has a magnificent voice. Love this song so much. It has such a special meaning.
I think he sings amazing, it gave me chills and goosebumps and thats rare. I've studied music and sang my whole life and his high notes were right on. These octaves are hard and extremely hard for men and he didn't struggle at all, the man can definitely sing. Just cause ppl don't sing the songs exactly like the original doesn't mean that they're bad. Everyone has their own way, their own voice and their own style when singing. Thats why it's called covers. And remember guys he was singing live which is extremely hard to do and he nailed it. I think he was absolutely amazing and such a powerful voice. It was so beautiful! Don't let anyone stop u, keep using that incredible voice and talent.

This young man has such so much to give and for us to appreciate, his voice is devine. Just a few tweaks from a tutor. He knows to sing from his diaphragm he has a natural talent. He has a natural born gift.
Yes he does need some advice on avoiding the harshness sometimes heard when he was not singing falsetto or being more emotive and softer in tone. A great talent nonetheless.

I agree! I think this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written! What some may not know is that Bobby’s rendition was recorded as a solo, and sung live on the Andy Williams Show in 1965. His was a cover of either/or Al Hibbler, Les Baxter, and Roy Hamilton, each of whom recorded it in 1955. Todd Duncan sang it in the film ‘Unchained’. Sadly, Bobby died alone in Nov. 5, 2003 in a hotel room the night before a performance with the other half of The Righteous Brothers, Bill Medley. His death from a fatal heart attack was precipitated by cocaine use. Toxicology reports indicated advanced coronary heart disease. 🥺
