Eno is as sublime as usual in the instrumental parts. IMHO the same can't be said when he sings. This album could have been another impressive work otherwise...
Well Gio, from what I understand, Eno himself is not enamored with his own voice or singing ability, which may explain why so much of his music has oriented to the ambient variety. If that's an accurate self-assessment I would offer a polite rebuttal were I to speak directly to him. However, in your case, I believe you're simply missing the boat. Eno's rich, layered voice here is as strong as on "Before and after science" and "Another Green world," two absolute masterpieces. Another day on Earth doesn't reach those heights, but it is cohesive and substantive. Hearing his voice is a joy and very satisfying. I long for him to give us more.
Never the greatest of vocalists, but for sure an absolute genius. The world would be a duller place without Eno
