I started off with a lawn but quickly realized I couldn't eat. So, I built a food forest. I get all kinds of birds and other pollinators now and I can eat what I grow.
I love this for you. But couldn’t you make a garden, flowerbeds, flowering trees, and shrubs, plant annuals, and perennials in these flowerbeds. And have grass for you to enjoy as well? I mean this is what I did, and it works really well, right?
@TheGreenerLawn oh of course. I still have a grass spot. I just hate mowing it. 😆 🤣. I enjoy a great lawn. The maintenance is a lot of work for no food. Most people only have grass in their yards. It doesn't attract any wildlife like a food forest does. I encourage people to grow food instead of nice lawns because food is expensive. If we learned how to grow food without pesticides, we would be a lot healthier and everyone could eat cheap. Nothing against people who like grass but trees are less maintenance and you can eat their fruit, prevent erosion, and enjoy the shade.
@@sgtrickards5683 yea there is maintenance lol but erosion control is huge with grass so is oxygen production, per 1k sqft you support 8 People daily. There are different benefits to the options you choose or don’t. That’s why I personally choose for me all of them, but there is 0 issues with your approach cause it makes sense for you and for your needs. I see that you’re hot button is cost of food, and you’re 1,000,000% correct that’s doing nothing but getting more expensive.
@@TheGreenerLawn It's not just the cost of food, either. It's the quality. The store food lacks in flavor now. I remember when my mom would get oranges and apples from the store when I was a kid. She couldn't keep them around the house. I see why people are so unhealthy. In the end, I really wna t people to understand the importance of eating quality food. FYI, if you need a good sprayer, I use the My 4 Sons battery backpack sprayer. It's fantastic if you have a lot of ground to cover. Might help you out with your lawns. I just bought mine and I love it.
@@sgtrickards5683 you’re correct! Couldn’t have said that better myself self. I’ve hear really goood things about those sprayers. I have a couple I’ve reviewed over the years, so when I go to replace them, I’m actually going to look into them.
I rarely ever mulch unless in the fall. Poa and disease are big no no's when it comes to mulching. I seem to battle one or the other during the growing season. I spoon feed regularly so my lawn is getting all the nutrients it needs.
If you are mowing consistently and you’re only cutting 1/3 of the blade off and when you mulch, it’s below 1/4” you can mow the whole time when it’s above 70. Basically Bermuda it’s mowing season is mulching season. So you’re good anytime, as long as you’re within the requirements above.

I would love to Mulch but I have stupid poa😢 and bagging is a pain in the ass!!!
Ugh. Good call on the bagging there, that’s a def quality reason to bag guhhhh…

How often should you mulch? It’s warming up and my Bermuda is taking off. I mow and bag about every 3-4 days, and my lawn is about 1”-1.5”.

Agreed 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
💯
Nope, just go once every 2 weeks, side discharge, they're better things in life than lawn care... Don't waste your time
Guess what I’m going to let you do, what you want, maybe like you should for everyone else, instead of gate keep them?
