I’ve listened to a lot of guitar solos before, but the solo for this song is the best I’ve found, the phrasing and tone, the harmonies chosen make for one of the most rewarding listens. For some reason this solo has never gotten old to me, it always seems to have new and beguiling quality to it every time I listen
Yeah but Rolling Stones recently changed up their top 100 greatest guitarists ever list by taking Jimi from his usual throne at number 1 and replacing him with Brian May. Brian May is great and is like a top 50 or 100 guitarist. One could argue top 25 and I would be okay with it. But not top 10 and certainly not number 1 ahead of Jimi. I think every few years there seems to be a wave of Queen being more highly rated than usual, and we’ve been riding this one for 2 years, maybe more. Last one I remember before that might have been in the late oughts or early teens. This wave seems more severe and long lasting.
This is my go-to song when I need a shot of confidence or if my anxiety starts to take over. Currently waiting for curtain of a show I'm performing in, and this song is converting my nerves into excitement.

I wasn’t really told about bands so much as my parents would have older stuff on the radio or playing their own CD’s and if something was good I’d ask about it. Then later I raided all my dad’s “cool” newer albums like Nirvana until I tried out The Beatles Red and Blue 2 CD sets of most notable Beatles hits, and I got obsessed with them and then classic rock in general until I got obsessed with Led Zeppelin. After that I was sort of embarrassed by classic rock and my favorite band was Smashing Pumpkins. That lasted into my 20’s. When I was a teen I think I figured it wasn’t cool to like a bunch of different styles so you had to pick one. Then I got more depressed and The Cure became my favorite band, which lasted a long time until I became even more depressed and started drugs and so Skinny Puppy became my favorite band. Then Elliott Smith when I was suicidal.Then it leveled out back at Radiohead, and now it’s at The Beatles again with Radiohead as number 2.
I did come from Jojo, but goddamn, I'm still going to enjoy this masterpiece! I mostly listen to J-rock and breakcore, so I'm glad that I was able to find these masterpieces in my little corner completely closed off from the western world! ❤ People who gate-keep music (and just gate-keep in general) suck.
