    Man, that was a ton of fun! I love your passion for curating your collection! I have tried to do more of that in 2024, because storing, organizing, admiring your favorite cards is the best part of collecting! I think in 2023 I was spending alot of my "hobby" time looking through the same box of doubles for trades on TCDB! 😂. Great job with your custom slabs! Looking forward to seeing how they evolve in your collection! Keep on rocking!

    I love that your segments are longer than 15 minutes. That room is IN-sane. I wish you lived in Atlanta so we could hang out. I love the slabs, the type needs to be bigger though for those over 50, also it will fill in the large empty space. I hope you are grading in the real world rather than the pretend world of the other graders. That 6 grade looks very fair. Centering should be 1-10 grade. Its too subjective having 100 options. Great idea, I love how you are creating an opportunity out of the frustration of grading. You should do 70s yellow instead of white for the labels. I LOVE the Jaws card.

    Thanks for sharing! I have been intrigued by these slabs, as I like what Mangini did. I have a 1956 Topps raw baseball set and 2 graded sets. This gets me thinking about selling the 2 graded sets and buying 500 of these slabs for the raw set. I started buying raw cards on eBay in 1999 and only turned to graded as sellers aggressively graded their cards. These new slabs may be a game changer and bring me full circle. The only question is if they make slabs to hold the larger 1956 Topps. Thanks again!

      Mike,
      I actually pulled a 56' card out to slab as I was typing it on a label I thought wait a second this thing isnt going to fit ha ha. I have not check yet to see but I dont think they do yet but enough of us ordering they will. I also love that IDEA !! that would give you enough money to make like 5 more sets :)

    • @mikewrobel2881
      @mikewrobel2881 Před 4 měsíci +1

      @DoubleDvintagebaseballcards These slabs make take business away from fringe companies like ISA, who some collectors just use to have their cards encapsulated for $6, who don't care about the grade. Likewise, many people refer to slabs as "glorified one touches". I would not be surprised if Fanatics buys the company and bumps up the price. I have long wrestled with choosing top loaders vs semi-rigids and storage with slabs. Now there is another option!

    Thank you for sharing Dylan! I got about a third of the way through your video and paused it and bought me a few of those slabs! Then came back to finish the video. Much like you, I have my own version of a card ranking system, but mine is weighted much more on sentimentality than it is on condition and centering. But I could definitely see myself doing something similar to what you have done, but I could include my “Rob Ranking” on the slab. I give each card a score in 5 different categories…. 1) Sentimentality 2)monetary value 3)image 4)eye appeal 5)overall awesomeness of card. Problem is… I am constantly changing the score for my cards in my spreadsheet as my opinions and tastes evolve. But if I print a slab label, it would be more difficult for the card to evolve. Anyway… I’m just thinking out loud here. Thanks for sharing!

      To be honest I would have no problem sending you something if it were that simple but the truth is its on in illustrator and I would not have the first Idea how to turn that into something someone else could use. You don't see a problem with the guy down the street making a pretty label a nice clear holder and he is going to overgrade his card and sell it on facebook? If it wasn't a problem there would be no need for any grading service. Real collectors will buy it raw but that only works when you can see it up close and personal. Your grading looks good but you aren't selling them anyway. That is why the market wants PSA. You like numbers I would think you would love Tag grading.

    • @DoubleDvintagebaseballcards

      I agree with just about everything you said. I think when you buy from a trusted source ungraded is just fine.
