9:06 but batman returns was pg13 along the amazing spider man
@@Die-Angst I know that I saying that the amazing Spiderman and batman returns are PG-13 but why would parents complain about batman toys especially for kids
@@randomreviews4278 Perhaps because of one scene involving the Penguin and Catwoman.
beetlejuice. I think beetlejuice was burger king though.
I plan on selling my McDonalds toys from the 80s.
I didn't like beast wars in McDonalds. I'm selling Cheetor.
My grandpa once ordered a happy meal once at McDonald's because he didn't know what it was. He said when he got it that it didn't make him happy at all.
LOL
Depressed Meal 😂
The sad meal (plays Final Duet from Omori)
Heh
I loved the bag puppets! Even my pediatrician gave them away if we were good. I remember the McDonald's bag puppets in the 70's. And I loved the Minions!! I'm 54 and have a stupid shelf of fun things I've gotten through my childhood into adulthood. 😁
That's cool
Those legendary hand puppets were even referenced in 2004 SpongeBob Movie, where Patrick Star got a similar looking Goofy Goober toy with his "Goober Meal".
They ended up being put on the high chairs.
@@jimroscovius Yep I remember the Grimace ones on the high chairs!
As a 90's kid myself, the only 2 things about McDonalds I miss r the commercials that featured the characters they don't do anymore, and how the buildings were build then. They were wider with red or blue slanted roofs.
Most McDonald's in Florida have also done away with the playgrounds. 😞
The glove puppets were awesome at the time. Growing up in the 80s we didn’t need name brand items included in Happy Meals. Even Pizza Hut had them at the time also.
pizza hut? 🤨
@@christianparrish6647 yep
@@Jdo4031 dang
If you were a kid who only got a happy meal maybe twice a year, you were grateful for whatever toy they put in that box.
Those Halloween pails wur tits in the 80s
I loved the Popoids toys. They were fun because they made a funny noise that was obnoxious. Plus, I had several of the big sets at home so it was neat to add them to my collection.
kids back then had an imagination unlike kids today.
I think they should bring them back especially with the fidget toys In high demand right now. I am almost 40 and would love them now lol. I have fidget spinners and pop it's and fidget cubes in my purse right now. It helps to have something to fidget with when I'm stressed or even hyper lol
@@jsrcamp Yup. And the accordion connectors from these toys on their own are in fidget toy grab bags nowadays.
Also, they made a wicked mace whenever I needed Elmo to beat up some aliens.
...I was kind of a weird kid, ok?
Right! The noise was awesome, and the feel of the parts popping.
I had a McDonalds glove puppet. I also had a similar one from Burger King. I liked them. I made many McDonalds vs. Burger King puppet shows and it never crossed my mind to expect a "better" toy! I grew up during a time when getting prizes with your food was not an expectation, but a bonus, and bonuses were appreciated, no matter the quality. This era of "Gimmie a toy and it had better be good!" is disgusting at best.
I agree with you!! They were fun!!
The Beanie Baby toys were a win for children, but a nightmare for everyone else. I remember the drive thru lanes backing all the way into the street, bringing traffic to a standstill for miles.
And people threw away the food and kept the beanies.
@@40intrepid Exactly so much wasted food and greedy adults meaning kids couldn't get them sometimes.
The McDonald Beanie Babies were legendary, I remember my sister collecting them.
I had the American Idol microphone toy. It actually worked without batteries, thanks to a spring coil that vibrates when you talk into the toy, that, in turn, amplified your voice. This was my favorite happy meal toy ever. My Spanish teacher had one too
Very cool!
I actually had those Mighty Duck pucks. I did not have a single one break.
As did I. I think WatchMojo is underestimating children, as even I was not that stupid to use it as an actual hockey puck (I mean, it's a plastic toy that works like a toy car, not a real hockey puck).
The only thing I disagree with is the fact that Minionese isn't "common English words and nonsense". It's a mixture of English, Spanish, Italian, Mandarin, Cantonese, Togalog, French, Russian, Japanese, and Hindi.
yeah, but for americans any other language than english is "nonsense"
Someone who knows there stuff. I approve.
Also, there are some modified Korean language words, that, are also included in The Minionese language. Also, Gelato, that, is the Italian word for ice cream, and, is also a Minionese word. Also, Buka Buka, real nonsense, even @Google Translate cannot find the language of origin for that word.
I think you mean Tagalog, which is a language from the Philippines.
@@greenrobot5 no we dont think that. stop that bs
I liked the Barbie dolls I used to get at McDonald's when I was younger. It was fantastic.
I remember when I used to go when I was a kid in the 90s and they had a girl toy which was of course a Barbie and a boy toy which was of course hot wheels
@@signergirl1 Did you get Barbara ?
@@johnnyfountainS I think I did once
Me too
@@signergirl1 I own some barbies. From mcdonalds. For sale.
Personally as a kid, I’d have found some way to have fun with some of these items. But definitely would’ve been let down by the bag puppets, foam feather, American idol, and dental options.
I guess it depends on what you grew up with. Being a kid of the 80's, I'm not saying we had crap toys (We still had Legos, Transformers, G.I. Joe and the first Laser Tag), but I do remember the bag hand puppets, and I remember having quite a bit of fun with them.
I had a big tub of Popoids as a child and remember getting the Happy Meal toys and being able to add to my collection. As a kid, I made cars, aliens and funky houses with my Popoids. Hours of fun for me. I have since brought them out of the depths of my childhood closet for my daughter to play with and she also enjoys them and asked if we could still buy them. I haven't seen them in years.
Maybe online stores such as EBay will have them. I've seen lots of shops selling classic or older toys.
I was obsessed with Happy Meal toys back when I was 9-10. I remember trying to collect all of the Shrek Christmas toys that they were doing back then. I could’ve sworn they smelled like candy when you first open them.
I remember getting some really cool actual metal hot wheels in the early 80’s from Mickey D’s 😬😬😬
*I honestly remember the Batman Returns glasses that were sold more than the Happy Meal toys.*
Honestly, I thought that that one Spiderman diary thing was pretty cool when it came out when I was a kid and I still have it today.
Nexus had the “Mighty Ducks” Pucks toys listed on the top 15 best happy meal toys ever.
I grew up in the 80’s and Loved those toys!
Same here Rebecca.
As for the music themed figurines, McDonald’s was actually sued by Devo because one of the figurines appeared to be wearing the already copyrighted Devo “energy dome” hat.
I thought the glove puppet thing was a side item that could be freely given out with the order, not an actual Happy Meal item. But that was so long ago.. I could be wrong. I do remember though that they were thrown in as part of the birthday party package with the cake and food...back when there were hostesses that would do birthday parties in the lobby.
Yes that’s what I thought as well. Plus they put it in for kids under 5
That's my memory of them as well; that they were intended as toys like that definitely didn't register much to me.
They was free items for kids in UK as happy meals wasn't even out in 80's
I remember them and liked them
I used it as a Halloween decoration
Happy Meal Toys have always been hit or miss but, I think that's what gives them their charm! :)
That plastic snap together thing looked like so much damned fun.
Yeah, those McDonald's bag puppets really were a chocking hazard. Every time I put one on, Ronald McDonald wanted to hug everyone around the neck.
I remember a couple of times, the food container was the toy. Instead of the food coming in the cardboard box, it came in either a plastic boat or a plastic flying saucer. I had a boat that looked like a submarine.
I remember when they did that for Halloween, I thought they were cool!
There was something plastic similar to the gloves that were free w/ every order. I just always remember choosing to have Grimace bc he was purple. LOL. I remember the toothbrush and paste. The paste tasted like bubble gum bc I wanted to eat it. My most awesome dad in the world (RIP) made a joke that we went to the McDentist. Total "dad joke," but I remembered it as soon as I saw that box!!!
Those Batman toys were awesome. I still remember having the penguin.
I remember the IZ one! We had them in Australia too, and I actually had some of those toys myself. I never found anything wrong with them appearance wise, just never fit their purpose.
I had all those Batman Returns toys at some point, nostalgia feels increasing
2:16 oh my gosh I actually remember having one of these when I was really young. I never knew the name of those things nor did it work and I honestly feel really old looking at this now
#7 reminds me of the worst halloween "treat" i recieved as a kid when somebody handed out a toothbrush and little tube of toothpaste instead of candy
Dentists do that.
CEO: Alright, pick 3 random objects to make into happy meal toys
Lackie: Tickle... Feather... Sponge...
CEO: Brilliant!
The glove puppets weren't Happy Meal toys, they were little giveaways to help keep bratty kids from screaming. The sunglasses were a separately purchased item.
I don't know if anyone remembers The Dog McDonald's toys. They were these adorable little dog plush keychains ❤️ Those were my favorite of all the McDonald's toys and I would drive my parents insane with trying to collect them all 👍🤣🤣🤣
I remember putting them all on my backpack at once and having a big litter to play with on the bus.❤️
I actually liked the disco theme figurines, particularly the one with the black long hair and pink skin, the rock star if you know what I mean, in fact I used to have that back when I was little
I never had one of those Izz toys, but I think they're kinda cute.
I always loved when these restaurants had things such as Pokémon, Digimon, and Yugioh toys. I also loved when they sold Neopets toys.
I had one they were pretty cool imo
I got one at my school store, but my mom made me get rid of it because it was annoying... my mom hasn't changed since then and I'm 24 now
I remember when I got the evil purple minion. After a while I stopped getting the happy meal for the toy, and realized that I just loved chicken McNuggets
This is so right..Being born in 71, I lost 2 cousins chocking on those old plastic hand puppets..So dangerous
I admit I liked the Zizzle Iz when I was younger.
same how were people scared of them lmfao
3:47
My Brain, Instinctively: "Lisa needs braces."
3:51 "Painless Dentistry: formerly Painful Dentistry" cracked me.🤣
When I worked at McDonald's in the early 90's we use to put those puppet gloves on the high chairs along with a bib and wet wipe.
My all time favorite as a kid was the Power Rangers Movie figures.
Then the racing cars with MD mascots, you can connect them and make a train car.
I still have all my toys in storage lol
Can you do a list with the best happy meal toys?
already did that
7:51 Lucy from Seven Super Girls reaction: This is a boy’s toooooyyy!
The No. 7 pick is just a predictable cop-out that 9 out of 10 parents would definitely not recommend. Best to stick to oral hygiene PSAs, thanks. 😁
And now pop-it fidgets (including the plastic pull tubes), are some of the most popular things for kids.
#9 that was the saddest " woo hoo" Ive ever heard im LMAO
I remember getting the plastic bag puppets 🤣 but tbh.. what do you expect? A PlayStation.. some of these are OK and me and my friends loved playing with the bag puppets when we were kids at a mac d birhday party which kids did a lot back then and Ronald macdonald used to come out
The popoids were a massive nostalgia blast for me. I remember having so many of those.
the zizzle iz was my childhood.
@@Die-Angst I actually enjoyed them
Legit, when we got to the toothpaste section, I just burst out laughing. Sorry, couldn’t help myself.
The Batman Returns toys were AWESOME
I am pretty sure the kids hear their parents curse more than the minon toys. LOL
I loved the Batman Returns cars. I still have my Batmobile, Catwoman’s Cruiser, the Bat-Tank but I missed the Penguins car. It didn’t matter that my parents didn’t let me watch the movie, I could still play with the toys.
Me and my sister had 2 of the IZ toys from McDonald’s. Apparently we liked them so much we kept fighting over them. They were the only toys our mom ever took away from us. She took them when we were at school, threw them in the garbage, and told us we must have just “misplaced” them. We then started fighting over who lost them. Mom confessed to tossing them years later.
3:01 He turned to the one on the left and was like: "Did you just fart?"😂
I collected all the Mighty Ducks Happy Meal toys back when I was into the cartoon as a kid but now they are either in storage or lost in the Abyss of forgotten childhood toys. As for the others they were either before my time or after I grew out of the desire to collect/want cheap plastic with my meals.
The Zizzle IZ looks cool!
Those bunny doctors are having an affair
🔥🔥Skydancers!!!🔥🔥
I don't know, my 6 year old and 3 year old would love those McDonald's sunglasses. Kids don't care how ridiculous sunglasses look
I remember getting one of the McDonald's glove puppets, I also remember me and my sister both looking at each other like wtf?, when we both got one, a dirty sock puppet would have been an improvement over that 😆
Not gonna lie. That Batmobile looked kinda cool.
Holy crap, I forgot about the plastic bag hand puppets from McDonald's and those popoids
I wanted one of those weird zizzle things so bad 🤣
8:30
What if little girls want girl stuff? I perfectly remember my sister and all of her friends were crazy about this kind of stuff 🤷🏻♂️
By the way you can choose anything when you buy a happy meal, it’s not boy for boy and girl for girl. They can choose whichever they want.
Kids don’t think like grown ups, they have free minds.
I don’t know what they’re talking about, those sunglasses are awesome.
This one was not a disappointment, they actually gave away these cool tomatoes seeds that were in this medium that contained everything the seen needed to sprout you put it in a bowl added water and the medium grew like 4x it's size when ya put water on it. It actually grew some of the very best tomatoes I've ever had.
''Certainly good happy meals" 🤣😂
Popoids were basically a discount Bionicle
3:12 This just reminds me of the scene in the Jimmy Neutron movie where Carl eats toothpaste thinking it’s space food😂
When i Saw that title, the first things comes up to my mind is the Minions cursing and and you guys pick it into number 1 on this list.
That Toy Phone from American Idol Happy Meal Set
Is Very Cool
The Sound From That Is The Most I Like It Beacuse
It Sound Like a Late 2000s Electro Pop Song
That I Really Like All lot
That Was Lit Man
Those sunglasses look fun! 😎 what do y’all mean they resemble pennywise “IT” not even.
Top Ten Worst Things McDonald's Has Ever Done
I was a child in the 1980s. Unfortunately, at that time, McDonald's didn't really have any cool Happy Meal Toys, especially before they partnered with Disney. By the time McDonald's DID have cooler toys toward the end of the decade, I was a teenager and far less interested in buying a happy meal, and I've never had any kids of my own to buy them for. However, I think that the coolest thing they DID have in the way of Happy Meal Toys, was the 101 Dalmatians toys introduced in the late 90s, when the movies came out. There were 101 different little figurines, each one of them different, and when 102 Dalmatians came out a few years later, there were 102 different figurines. I tried to collect the entire sets, but was never able to. I still have a bunch of them today, though!
The plastic boat boxes, pumpkin pails, metal 80's hotwheels, stompers , and mcnugget characters were awesome
Most were actual toys at least. I bought some for my nephews and got a piece of paper that bends
Great list! Can we get top 10 best Happy Meal toys?
I had the Batman Returns toys. They were awesome
Idol became so popular, that at least 10 shows parodied it in some way, including Reba, Tosh.0, and iCarly
Hey! I had poppoids and I liked them!
Granted, I was a toddler back then, but still...
I like all the Happy Meal Toy or Toys that disappointed as a child or a kid at McDonald's with Ronald McDonald at Fast Food Restaurant Comes with a Box that inside with Fries and a Hamburger and Milk and a Toy like The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Girl Toys and Batman Returns
Drinking game! Every time she says "Wanted in on the action" you take a shot
I had the batman returns toys as a kid... hadn't seen the movie but I did watch the old cartoons, and I was just happy to actually have batman toys - They're really well made compared to the other stuff in this list
Helicopter parents and stereotypical Karen's are the only ones who complained about the Minions
I remember the Ducks Pucks fondly!
In the uk, there were McDonald's toys that looked like double groins. They got pulled in 2000 or 2001 for other toys. Probably Musketeers.
At least McDonalds tried their best
Dude, shoutout to Kyle Sullivan.
6:05 so thats the first Anti stress toy
I remember getting something similar to the American Idol MP3 player toy but I don't remember if it was a Maccas toy or not. It had different types that had like 5 seconds of a song on it. The one I remember was we got a Mambo No.5 one and it played 5 sets of the chores
Thank goodness the Spider-Man fiasco was during the Garfield era.
Parents are always the most outraged when it’s something “free”.
This video list is earning almost 161,500 worldwide views!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’d love any of these over todays junky Happy Meal toys
"Minionese is a mixture between English words and nonsense"
That's a mixture between ignorance and Murica!!
As a kid in the early 80s no happy meal toy before or after were as worse as the plastic bag hand puppet. Give me the toothbrush and toothpaste. Give me the American Idol garbage. Give me the Mighty Ducks pucks in bulk. Tickle me with the tickle feather. Just keep those hand puppet bags away from me.
